The doom and gloom media

The doom and gloom media
Last week I read numerous articles about the Greek vote. If the anti bailout party won, then it was all over. Europe would go into decline, then it would hit the American stock market, and then look out. The only hope was for the pro bailout party to win.

Well now that the elections are over, and the "pro bailout" party won, well as you might expect the media is still pushing the "doom and gloom" and even though the party that was supposed to be the last chance for Greece won, now it's only "temporary", and things are still going to be bad!

It seem so obvious that no matter what happens, no matter what the media says one day, it will always be, at least till after the elections in November, doom an gloom! We all know that that helps Romney, even though he doesn't stand a chance of winning, and the more he opens his mouth the worse things get for him. Nope the media will ignore all of Mitts gaffs while at the same time dwell on how bad things are for the president.

Now I know things are still touch and go in Europe, but I get so sick of not hearing anything "positive" coming from the media which is owned by rich right wingers. The only polls that seem to get talked about are the ones that are so far slanted towards Romney it's pathetic. The polls that show the president ahead are only seen on sites like this and other sites that democrats visit.

Now I am sure all the BS coming from the so called "liberal" media, are red meat for the brain dead base of the republican party, and I am sure that the majority of americans will see through the BS and re-elect the president, and I am sure that the powers that be in the republican party don't really want Mitt in office for even 4 years let alone 8, and the "A" team from the right, Bush, Christie, Thune, etc, that backed out this year wouldn't be able to run again for at least 8 years, I still get tired of the BS from the media!

RE: The doom and gloom media
The media is doing the same shit they did four years ago. It's really remarkable how they're addressing this election in those same terms.

There was a meme going around in '08 that essentially boiled to this: 'This is certainly good news for John McCain'. No matter the story, in total snark, you'd reply with that statement because the media was constantly asking, or saying, it - 'Is this good news for John McCain?', 'This is definitely good news for John McCain...'

You heard it specifically around the time Russia decided to invade Georgia. That was going to be the game-changer and what it'd do? No one here cared because it's fucking Russia & Georgia - and not OUR Georgia!

We're seeing it now. Everything has to be spun to be bad for Obama or the country. It's quite exhausting.

I am waiting for the national debates when the country can watch, and hear the stupidity of one Mitt Romney, and the utter lack of an actual "plan" to fix anything. It will be very hard for Romney to slide by when the whole country will be watching him.

presidential debates occur....the contrast will be as stark as....oh let's say President Kennedy and Nixon...

I think it will be that bad.

Funny thing about those Kennedy/Nixon debates. The people who only heard it on radio thought Nixon did better. The fact that Nixon refused makeup and looked tired and unshaven hurt him on TV.

The news media has to sell Viagra and Cialis somehow.

Romney is so boring and such a dud, who wants to listen to all the news programs that sell ads unless they try to make it a horse race.

Yes Romney is about as boring as they come, and I understand the horse race mentality of the media, bur damn you would think that the inept way Romney does things would be news "somedays". Shrug

Isn't it amazing how the entire world's fate often depends on one little country? And the entire nation's elections are affected by an election in one state? The media pundits are shameless. roflmaoFacepalmroflmao

RE: The doom and gloom media
Even the German media is getting into the act.

Their left-leaning "Der Spiegel" just ran a front cover with Obama frowning and a banner headline "What a Shame." Underneath a minor headline that said "an unsuccessful presidency." Actually they used "mislückt," which is just one stage above "failed."

The article itself pointed, more accurately, to how Obama had good intentions but was thwarted at every turn by Republican obstructionism. But it didn't much dwell on his accomplishments, although it did end with asking the question if Romney would be better, and answering it by "certainly not!" There's one thing the American "liberal" press won't do.
