Appluase Russell Pearce booted from AZ Mexican restaurants in fundraiser flap
Hearing that this happened made me so happy. I may have to have a few meals at these restaurants to show my support for their actions. Big Grin

Quote:Arizona state senator Russell Pearce (R-18), the lawmaker who crafted the state’s controversial anti-immigration law, SB 1070, also known as the “Papers, please” law, was thrice denied a venue for a fundraiser scheduled for Thursday afternoon, June 14. According to the Arizona Capital Times, the former legislator asked two Mexican restaurants and a public school library to host the event, only to be told to please campaign somewhere else.

Pearce was carried into office on the tide of Tea Party fervor that dominated the 2010 elections. In January of 2011, he was sworn in and held that office for nearly a full eleven months before he lost a recall election in November of 2011 and was ousted from the Arizona State Senate. That hasn’t stopped him, however, from running again to win back his seat as the representative of Arizona’s District 18. The Mesa area is currently represented by Republican businessman Jerry Lewis, who won against Pearce in the recall.

What's wrong with this person? That's like asking to hold your campaign fundraiser for the Nazi ticket at a Jewish deli....and then being flabbergasted that they said "no".

A-to-the-men, KonaKane. Pearce was apparently giddy with the GOP's Koch'd-fueled, never-ending orgy of playing people for fools. Good to know there are still some out there willing to throw cold water on Republicans and shock them back to reality.

Another teabagger idiot having to live with the consequence of his actions. The hubris and sense of entitlement of this idiot is astounding. The fact that he thought that he'd be welcome in ANY Mexican restaurant after the being the lead drafter of the state's anti-immigration law shows this.

Well, there's karma in the world, my friend...
Pierce should be persona non grata in ANY Latino-owned or related facilities.

That's pretty much all of Arizona, I would think Tongue

Republicans have no sense of shame. None.
A few years ago I was in a Mexican restaurant when that old hag Jan Brewer walked in. She's every bit as ugly in person as she looks on the tv. I wish the restaurant had refused to serve her.
