Disrespect of the President today and Eric Holder this week are part of the same issue, the disrespect these privileged white men and women in power have for anyone that doesn't look and think like they do.
I am ashamed to be a white male American.
Yes, it is racism, especially in this case when you consider the source. Tucker Carlson's Reich-wing rag is well known for its racism - when the Trayvon Martin story broke they were the first to "report" Trayvon was a "punk" and a "drug-dealer," without any proof of course, and they published a bunch of fake photos of menacing looking black men claiming they were Trayvon Martin, which of course they weren't.
But no president has ever had to put up with this BS, from a congressman calling him a liar during a joint session of Congress, or a governor wagging her witchy finger in the president's face, to this...no white president has ever had anything as near this amount of disrespect directed at him!

Thank you for that solidarity, Pappy!
I am livid over this - and it's already starting to be "pooh-poohed" as "tough questioning" -- but I was glad to see Martin Bashir didn't let anyone get away with that -- and he's right -- it was blatant disrespect from a right-wing rag.

Can you imagine the outrage from the Reich if a liberal disrespected Bush the way this President has been disrespected?
And if, God forbid, Romney becomes president, and a liberal congressperson calls Romney a "LIAR!" when he is addressing Congress, or if a Democratic governor wags his or her finger in his face, or if a liberal blogger interrupts him while he's giving an official speech, will the Reich just shrug it off? I doubt it!

Romney doesn't have to worry. It would never happen.

Fine! Let's tie the Dailey Caller and
Romney together. Romney should be responding to this level of disrespect and because he hasn't....we know all we need to know.
These events have to be used to show the country what Romney is unwilling to do.

Sam Donaldson Rejects Comparison To Reporter Who Interrupted Obama
Posted: 06/16/2012 1:12 pm Updated: 06/16/2012 9:07 pm
<..> “I don’t remember Diane Sawyer scolding her colleague Sam Donaldson for heckling President Reagan," Carlson said. "And she shouldn’t have. A reporter’s job is to ask questions and get answers."
<..> (from Donaldson)
Quote: Never once did I interrupt a president in any way while he was making a formal statement, a speech, honoring awardees or in any other way holding the floor. Yes, almost always when he was finished in the Rose Garden or in the Briefing Room or at a photo opportunity with other world leaders I tried to question him (only rarely was it a shout on the rope line, more often a more normal tone of voice) and other reporters of course did the same thing along with me.
What this man did yesterday is something new, to me wrong and unusual. I think it is probably the result of the growing incivility of the times, the competition among reporters and news organizations to be noticed not only for the work product but for the theatrics of the gathering…and there is one more factor, let’s face it: Many on the political right believe this president ought not to be there – they oppose him not for his polices and political view but for who he is, an African American! These people and perhaps even certain news organizations (certainly the right wing talkers like Limbaugh) encourage disrespect for this president. That is both regrettable and adds, in this case, to the general dislike of the press on the part of the general public.
For Tucker Carlson to say that he would if he can give this man a raise for this rude attempt to interrupt the president is reflective of what I’ve said above and, to me, lowers my opinion of Tucker.

Good for Donaldson telling the truth. I hope Tucker chokes on it.

I so appreciate how Donaldson pulls no punches in his statement! That is awesome - thanks for posting. As for Munro's lame attempt to provide cover for himself - his excuse is an insult to any thinking person. When the President "winds down his remarks," he always says something to the effect of, "And with that, I'll be happy to take a few questions" -- *that's* how you know he has indeed finished his remarks and the floor is open to questions. To start heckling him while he is clearly still speaking -- boorish, unprofessional, disrespectful - Daily Caller's WH access should be revoked.

As I understood the original story the press was informed that the President was going to make an announcement but take no questions. In such a situation the President usually thanks the press and turns to leave. That was usually the time the Donaldson and others since try to get in a shouted question.
The fool green card immigrant Munro is simply trying to make a name for himself with the Reich Wing. If you look at his appearance and stance in the videos and stills available online he seems to have the appearance of having had a few belts and his posture seems hostile, hands jammed in his pockets while leaning forward. He had no notepad or sound recorder. What kind of "reporting" was he expecting to do? None! He was there to be the story not report it.

It's amazing how the RW idiots are trying to justify what this so-called reporter did by saying that Obama never, ever, ever, never, ever takes questions (evidently because he thinks he's a dictator or some such nonsense) so the only way to get a question across is to interrupt. AND these idiots don't in any way think this is disrespectful to the president 'cause after all he's a Kenya, Maoist, Marxist, communist, blah, blah, blah...
Makes me want to throw up.

I often wonder how the right-wing rank-and-file are actually able to function in this world given that their dogma compels them to live inside delusion wrapped inside a lie on every subject, every topic, every issue.

Hypocrite Tea Party reporter who heckled Obama on immigration isn't an American
Lou Colagiovanni
Detroit Liberal Examiner
<..> In a ridiculous twist while considering the context of this story, it turns out that Munro isn't a United States citizen and actually holds a green card that allows him to work in The United States while maintaining his citizenship in Ireland. How does one critique the immigration policies of a country, while shamelessly benefiting from those very policies?

I knew from reports that he was an immigrant but had assumed he had obtained citizenship given his questioning.
Is Tucker having trouble getting American citizens to work for him? Is this guy even paid?
I say give this guy and Orly one way tickets back to Europe. They can spew their nonsense from over there.
