RE: Barrett's prospects for an upset look better than they have in a long time (PPP Poll)
Back in 2004, my European friends here in NATO-land asked me what I thought would be the outcome of the 2004 presidential race. I said I thought Kerry would win the election and Bush would remain in office. Before the election, they couldn't understand what I meant. After the election, they understood only too well.
I'm hoping mightily this will be different, but they are making this their Waterloo, the one they dare not lose. There is already an intimidation of team of professional election disruptors from Texas on the ground in Wisconsin. Their job is to scare Democrats away from the polls. Rove and the Kochs have poured tens of millions into this race, and the DNC and DFA can't match it.
Walker deserves a cell at Leavenworth, not the Governor's mansion, but the Kochs and Rove will lose something with Walker that they can't afford to lose: their credibility. If they lose this, extremist Republicans from coast to coast will see that for all their money, they can't be relied on to steal an election when it matters. I predict there will be violent assaults, physical intimidation, and fraudulent ballot-counting, all to the benefit of Walker.
There will be tears at the Barrett HQ tomorrow night. Whether of joy of disappointment, I don't dare predict, but if we win, it will be despite a tidal wave of crooked machination on Walker's behalf. I only wish Eric Holder had an out of state National Guard unit at every major polling spot in Wisconsin to arrest and lock up every illegal thug Walker and the Kochs have hired for this day. Cowards always retreat when they realize their opponents can and will shoot back.

Indeed, DFW, and let's not forget that if everything is truly in the toilet for Walker, et al., no doubt there will be a Republican election official in the hole somewhere who will suddenly remember that they "forgot" to count 50,000 votes in Walker's favor.

Wisconsin Recall: U.S. Department Of Justice To Monitor Elections
The Huffington Post | By Amanda Terkel Posted: 06/04/2012 2:06 pm Updated: 06/04/2012 5:25 pm
MILWAUKEE -- The U.S. Department of Justice plans to monitor the recall elections in Wisconsin on Tuesday, and will dispatch a team of federal observers to the city of Milwaukee.
The observers will be ensuring that the city complies with the 1965 Voting Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination in the electoral process on the basis of race, color or membership in a minority language group.
There are six recall elections taking place on June 5 for governor, lieutenant governor and four state senators.
Wisconsin's Department of Justice is also sending a team of assistant attorneys general and special agents from the Division of Criminal Investigation to 12 cities in an effort to prevent voter fraud.

I saw somewhere else that they will be watching for the voting officials to ask for a photo ID.....which isn't on the books in WI. That's what they were doing in the last election! Creeps.

Well, that's mostly good news, but I have a question. When you said "they will be watching" do you mean the DOJ and the WDOJ will be doing that? If so, that doesn't make sense if there is no law on the books for that.
From what I read, at the May voting the people at the tables were still asking for ID's....which they can't do.

"From Wisconsin Election Protection, we are receiving reports that some clerks are still asking for Voter ID under the guise of "practice." This is NOT OK! There should be NO requests for photo ID from voters! If you see signs, if you are asked for your ID, please notify us IMMEDIATELY. Call our 1-866-OUR-VOTE (1-866-687-8683), post here, or tweet us @EPWisco. Be sure to tell us what polling site & where the site is located!!!

Thanks jaxx! I hope the attorneys from the two DOJ's are really on the lookout for that kind of thing too.
