The GOP has cost America over a million jobs
The GOP love to kill government and lay off government workers. Now over a million people are out of work thanks to the GOP's hatred of our government.

Quote:Since February 2010, the private sector has added 4.27 million jobs, while the public sector has cut 1.028 million jobs since May 2010.

Imagine how much better our economy would be doing if a million more people were working. Still the GOP doesn't care because all they care about is reducing the taxes paid by the 1% while make the rest of us suffer.

Reading the comments, the GOP supporters don't seem to mind, as long as there's no gov't help. Rolleyes

Ah, I think this might be the "culprit". I wonder what the figures would be this month if the labor force growth were consistent with past months. 422,000 more people working sounds pretty damn good.

"But that's not what happened this month. In May, according to the BLS, the labor force actually grew by 635,000 — which means a lot of people who had been sitting on the sidelines jumped back in. The number of people employed, according to the Household survey, rose by 422,000 in the month."

Here's the April report which shows 169,000 LESS people employed, even though the unemployment rate went down due to participation rate going down. So maybe these employment figures, for the long haul, are better than they first appear.
