do....No one defended him, no one stood up and said the behavior was unacceptable and so it continued. If it can happen to this black man, it can and will happen to women and then other minority groups.

We are all obligated to stand up for what is right even though there may be repurcussions. I know this sounds extreme but if all of us would have NOT accepted the theft of the Presidency by Junior we would be 20 years ahead of where we are now. 2% of the population at UCLA is black, I am going to guess that Athletics is where many of the blacks are....think about that.

I'm not sure which is worse--that those scumbags felt entitled to humiliate someone just because he was black, or that management thought that it was alright to allow that. Then, they have the nerve to be pissed off because the doctor had a problem with it! Vomit

I had no idea UCLA was like this and thought Californians were far more progressive. Stunned that this would happen particularly in the medical community.

This is a really disappointing story.

One can anticipate that some ignorant redneck losers will act like this--they're losers who need to put down on others to deal with their own insecurities.

But physicians at UCLA? Disgusting.

Notice it is called the "Ronald Reagan" Center - maybe that emboldened those residents. That behavior should never be tolerated - I don't want a doctor who would do a thing like make that slide show, no matter how "smart" they allegedly are otherwise.

White privilege in a competitive world - hey we can make it harder for others to compete if they aren't white men, but by type of behavior and the stress it would cause, which can't be returned in kind.

I don't blame AA students not wanting to go there - having to deal with this stuff in addition to the pressures of medical school.
