Newark Mayor Cory Booker slammed the Obama campaign's ad criticizing Mitt Romney's record as the head of Bain Capital, and called for an end to"nauseating" attacks from both sides.

"I have to just say from a very personal level, I'm not about to sit here and indict private equity," Booker, a Democrat, said in an appearance on NBC's "Meet The Press" on Sunday. "To me, it's just we're getting to a ridiculous point in America. Especially that I know I live in a state where pension funds, unions and other people invest in companies like Bain Capital. If you look at the totality of Bain Capital's record, they've done a lot to support businesses, to grow businesses."

Thanks a ton, Mayor. If there is any problem we Democrats have, it's that we've been just too darn hard on the Republicans for the past 20 some odd years.

Love you, Corey, but you don't do anyone any favors with the "false equivalency" junk. If Mitt Romney were to get elected, the first thing that would be on the table would be to slash state funding - then where would Booker's city be? More police and firefighters laid off - and Republicans would turn around and blame Booker for it. I'm sure he thinks he's being level-headed with his criticism, but Republicans will not return any favors done.

Yep, they do - But they shouldn't. Move Your Money. I understand the Mayor may be in desperate need of investors to continue to improve Newark's economy and livability, but it would be nice if he would choose to make it an example of growth through green and clean money.

Cory hasn't said shit about the Republicans attacking President Obama for everything one can imagine. Did Cory say anything about the attacks Romney has been doing against President Obama and are out right lies? No...

I like the Cory but this is unacceptable...hey Cory if you haven't figured it out, the Repugs are not playing nice and they are intentionally trying to tank the country. Get some backbone or STFU!!

President Obama tried playing fair and he got kicked in the teeth....he has learned his lesson. No more Mr. Nice Guy.....Cory...they will be attacking you with you are not one of them.....what are you going to do then....cry like a Boehner?

He was the hit of twitter this morning, and I do mean hit. He was smacked around and tried to act like he was right....wrong thing to do on top of what he said. I even saw Christie weigh in on someone's tweet about Booker taking Christie's place on MTP. It was a dumb move on Booker's part.

Mr. Booker should realize that the pendulum has swung too far toward unrestrained kleptocratic capitalism at the expense of the majority of American's economic security.

There is a reason President Obama is talking about Bain and companies like it, and it doesn't just have to do with Mitt Romney.

If Cory Booker does indeed know this, yet he opts to defend the piracy of vultures like Bain simply to ingratiate himself to big money donors, he is pathetic and he sullies the title of Democrat.

Late word is the b-slapping he's been getting over the comments have registered, and now he's "walking back" his criticism of the ads. It's good to know that the "no more Mr nice guy" 'tude has apparently taken hold with most. We can't afford to roll over anymore.

No, we can't. I think Mr. Booker should lay low now and stick to mayoring, shoveling snow, and rescuing people from burning buildings. He should NOT be out there any more pontificating about Obama in such a negative way.
