Idiocracy in action.
Quote:Father of 30, by 11 women, wants child support help from the state

Desmond Hatchett of Knoxville, Tenn., doesn't deny fathering 30 children, by 11 mothers no less -- instead, he's pleading with the state to help him out with child support.

Hatchett, just 33, appeared in court this week to make his case, WREG-TV reported.

Holding a minimum wage job, Hatchett already gives half his pay to the children's mothers but because he has a minimum wage job some moms get just $1.49 a month in support.

The children range in age from toddlers to 14.

"I had four kids in the same year. Twice," he said in explaining how he set the paternity record for Knox County.

Anyone think we don't need better access to birth control, or even free voluntary sterilization for those with no self-control?

"I give thanks for this perfect day. Miracle will follow miracle and wonders will never cease."

The universe tends to unfold as it should.

30 kids
11 mothers

What's the big deal? That's not even and average of 3 per mother.

I hope they aren't all in the same school system, poor teachers. Teacher, "Hatchet go see the principal" and the classroom empties.

The local hospital maternity ward probably has a "Hatchet Wing".

How did he even manage this? Wow I'd like to interview the mothers. Did they realize this? Why so many women willing to bear his child, and some of them most know he has many others!

My mom says it's the result of growing up in the neighborhood. My dad's first words to my mom were "you'd be real cute if you lost a few pounds". When I asked her WTF she chose to pursue a relationship with someone like that, she said everyone she knew lived in the same neighborhood...they all had the same circle of people...it's just what people did. I guess growing up in a condemned apartment doesn't do much for the self esteem, not to mention her own mom's example wasn't great.

That's what is sad...these 30 kids have such a poor example, how many of them will just continue the cycle?

In this case sterlization would be
necessary. Even if he had all of the education and protection he is not the kind of guy that would use it.

30 kids = ridiculous

RE: Idiocracy in action.
Planned Parenthood offers free vasectomies in Oregon. I informed my step-son that he could "voluntarily" get one or be homeless! I don't know if they have them everywhere. I would think people would be lined up to contribute to pay for them too, well, except the Church would protest. This guy has to have something else going on to have 30 kids, it's just weird.

On that note, you know what really chaps my ass? I DO NOT WANT KIDS. But nobody will allow me to have any permanent sterilization procedure. They only allow you to do it if you already have given birth. Like people just can't believe that someone wouldn't want at least one kid.
I wish they would trust me to make my own decision concerning my body.

I hear you, SCQ. I had my tubes tied after my daughter was born (yeah, not exactly the same situation you are in), and my lord, I had to answer the same questions from several doctors about whether I was absolutely sure I wanted this done. When one of them said, "Well, what if you meet someone who wants to have children?" (I was divorced.). I was so exasperated by that time that I said, "If that was the case, I'd tell him he'd have to find another brood mare!"

So sorry you are facing this.

RE: Idiocracy in action.
There is something wrong with this guy. Apparently it's a blanket ailment that is not unheard of:

Anti-Gay Republican Pol Leaves Wife For Sperm Donor Babies

Bill Johnson, a former Alabama gubernatorial candidate, has left his wife and family in Prattville to be with babies he secretly conceived as a sperm donor in New Zealand.

Johnson’s wife, Kathy Hale Johnson, told the New Zealand Herald that Johnson recently returned to live in New Zealand where he donated sperm to at least 10 women without her knowledge.

......

She said Johnson plans to apply for residency so he can stay in New Zealand, and that he intends to donate sperm to additional women.

“He is obsessed with this. He doesn’t want to stop,” she said.

Sounds like Mr. Johnson and Mr. Redneck have this insane need to prove they have viable sperm.

I just had this flashback of an old Seinfeld episode, with George Castanza doing a happy dance because his girlfriend had missed her period.
