All I can say is that in 2004, I certainly couldn't see this day coming for John Edwards.

When I think of how he endangered this party, knowing what could blow up should he be on the ticket, I have zero sympathy or concern. Throw away the key.

Yes, we should condemn those who are traitors to the party - life without parole!

He may not even be found guilty based on what I heard from the proceedings, so let's not jump to conclusions.

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

TINS, the guy did some pretty awful stuff. I should have been a little clearer - if he committed a crime and gets heavy time, there will be no angst on my part.

Are you still a fan?

Never was - how is that relevant?

I really haven't followed the trial because it's all just too sad. I think continuously hitting up Bunny Mellon the way he did was disgusting, no matter what he did with the money. She was 100 years old.

I feel for the kids who have lost their mother and now possibly their dad. Good grief. All for a piece of tail.

Looks like it'll be a long weekend for Edwards.

Updated at 6:51 p.m. ET: A jury of eight men and four women began deliberations Friday in the trial of former Sen. John Edwards and retired for the weekend after signaling that it could be some time before they reach a verdict.

I haven't followed that trial, so for once I will leave it to the jury! Whatever they decide.

I wonder what would have happened had he been Vice President from 2004. Maybe none of it.

Anyone who is Progressive or Liberal
should know that anything that they do that could expose them will be 10 times worse than if it were a Republican. He saw how they went after Clinton and he was too stupid to think they wouldn't go after him.....

He did this to himself...I have no sympathy for him one way or another....his wife was dying and he couldn't wait....I feel bad for all of the children.

I think he'll walk.
Sans jail time, I'd be happy with a verdict that he must return ALL of the money his campaign received to the respective contributors.
