Zimmerman suffered injuries after alleged scuffle with Trayvon Martin: report
George Zimmerman, accused of murdering unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, suffered a number of injuries to his head and face when they scuffled, according to a medical report from the gunman’s family doctor.
His family physician said Zimmerman had a pair of lacerations to the back of his head, two black eyes, a minor back injury and a “closed fracture” of his nose, according to the report obtained by ABC News and previewed Tuesday.
The injuries, documented a day after Zimmerman shot Martin on Feb. 26, could support his claims of self-defense.
Zimmerman, 28, told police that he only shot 17-year-old Martin after the teen attacked him. Martin had been walking through the Sanford, Fla., condo complex after stopping at a nearby convenience store, police said.

Just means Zimmerman got the worst of it ... I don't think it supports any claim of self defense ... if you start a fight, and you end up getting your ass beat, that's the luck of the draw ... and now that I think of it, Zimmerman did NOT get the worst of it, Trayvon did as he's laying in a grave right now.
I'm sure the defense will try to spin this doctor report, but it doesn't sound like he received any life threatening injuries as have been claimed, and what I think what it all boils down to is that but for Zimmerman's actions that night, none of what happened that night would have happened! Whether the jury sees it that way remains to be seen.

And this will be a trial in Florida (no offense), and after what I saw happen in the Casey Anthony case, I'm not feeling a lot of trust in the jury system there.

I hear ya SG! I was thinking the same thing! Florida is one of just a handful of states that have 6 person juries instead of 12, except in death penalty cases, and that's worrisome because the more people you have on a jury the better the chance there is for more diversification on the jury, and more deliberation among the jury, and studies have shown that minorities views are less represented on 6 panel juries than on 12 panel juries.

I had never heard of 6 person juries until I read this, had to go look it up.

The video of Zimmerman at the police station doesn't show the above-mentioned injuries. No EMT or hospital report of the night in question documenting the above-mentioned injuries, but a medical report weeks out-of-date by the Zimmerman family physician is supposed to be evidence? It might as well be a late note signed by Epstein's Mom.

Trayvon may have only needed to land one, fairly soft, defensive punch on Z's face for those injuries to have been recordable at examination the next day.
From the video it's obvious that Z's nose was not flattened across his face or both eyes blackened by punches. Bruising from a mild injury can take time to show. Any half-decent medical opinion should refute this 'evidence'.
Florida teenager Trayvon Martin died from a single gunshot wound to the chest fired from “intermediate range,” according to an autopsy report reviewed Wednesday by NBC News.
The official report, prepared by the medical examiner in Volusia County, Fla., also found that the 17-year-old Martin had one other fresh injury – a small abrasion, no more than a quarter-inch in size – on his left ring finger below the knuckle.
