Obama Created More Jobs In One Year Than Bush Created In Eight

Quote:This morning, the Labor Department released its employment data for December, showing that the U.S. economy ended the year by adding 113,000 private sector jobs, knocking the unemployment rate down sharply from 9.8 percent to 9.4 percent — its lowest rate since July 2009. The “surprising drop — which was far better than the modest step-down economists had forecast — was the steepest one-month fall since 1998.” October and November’s jobs numbers were also revised upward by almost 80,000 each. Still, 14.5 million Americans remain unemployed, and jobs will have to be created much faster in coming months for the country to pull itself out of the economic doldrums.

Responding the jobs report, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) noted that President Obama and the Democratic Congress have created “more jobs in 2010 than President Bush did over eight years.”

Indeed, from February 2001, Bush’s first full month in office, through January 2009, his last, the economy added just 1 million jobs. By contrast, in 2010 alone, the economy added at least 1.1 million jobs. This chart, produced by Pelosi’s office, demonstrates the difference between the Bush administration and the Obama administration on jobs:

It's amazing how negative some websites are about this stat. Like it didn't just happen. They say things like "the rate went down because people stopped looking for work" But the rate always reflects those who have stopped looking. Plus, 150k workers have entered the workforce every month. So to me, progress is progress.

Not surprised..bush-cheney was about destroying this country and President Obama and VP Biden are about building our country back up again..doing whatever they think is necessary. Amazing what happens when care is given.

Yes, it is true that they measure this a certain way and that there are other ways to measure employment. That is hardly surprising. Most things can be looked at in different ways, for different reasons.

The bottom line with these employment statistics is that no matter which methods you use they all tell you the same information when you compare them over time. Unemployment remains at high levels, but when PBO took office we were crashing and the crashing stopped just when he took over.

It is a hard sell to say it's not good now but it would have been a lot worse but for actions taken by PBO. While that may be a hard sell, it is still the absolute truth. It is also true that if Republicans have their way they will finish the job that Bush started, and 90% of us will suffer way more.

This Idiot, Azinger, on ESPN says he's "created more jobs than Obama"..

Quote:There are rules to the Obama Derangement Syndrome game, folks. The forms must be followed in American political Kanly, and a perfect demonstration is taking place this weekend. Step The First, we have this tweet, courtesy of pro golfer and ESPN analyst Paul Azinger:

Facts: Potus has played more golf this month than I have: I have created more jobs this month than he has: #Marthasvineyard

Now working for ESPN and not FOX News, the Zinger was told by his employer that this sort of thing was probably not a good idea. He’s not paid for his political analysis but his golfing analysis, and it’s not like he’s the first guy to get reigned in by a network or even the first analyst to get checked by ESPN for making public comments on Twitter. That was Step Two, the response:

>more on ABL<

Facts my Democratic ass.
