Sean Harris ....., the senior pastor at Berean Baptist Church in Fayetteville, is a strong supporter of North Carolina's proposed antigay Amendment One. In Sunday's sermon, Harris screams like a maniac about cracking limp wrists and punching young children who exhibit gender-variant behavior. And I would lay dollars to donuts that he's a closet gay. I don't mean that as an insult to actual "I accept myself" gay people. It's just that it seems that the ones who scream out the loudest against "teh gays" might be hiding their own homosexual inner selves. They can't accept that in themselves so to compensate, they have to lash out and demand that actual and suspected gays be harmed.

I am sitting here with my jaw on the floor. Is advocating child abuse legal in NC? What kind of monster thinks children are "limp wrists"? And the congregation laughing and shouting back....what kind of monsters are they?

Amendment One would also immediately make domestic violence victims ineligible for protection orders and would even remove children from their unmarried parents’ health insurance.

“But he defended his belief in the need to reinforce traditional gender roles in children,” the Fayetteville Observer reported this morning:

“If I had to say it again, I would say it differently, no doubt,” Harris said Tuesday. “Those weren’t planned words, but what I do stand by is that the word of God makes it clear that effeminate behavior is ungodly. I’m not going to compromise on that.”
