Dow Jones average hits highest mark since '07

AP Business Writer

NEW YORK (AP) -- The Dow Jones industrial average is closing at its highest level in more than four years.

The fastest growth in U.S. manufacturing in 10 months gave stocks a lift Tuesday. Orders, hiring and production all rose in April.

The Dow added 66 points to 13,279, its highest close since Dec. 28, 2007.

People will notice this, it says we're gaining on the economy. I know the other numbers are more critical, but this is something the people on the street pay attention to.

Just yesterday the M$M was moaning about Aprils closing Dow. Facepalm

I don't watch news much. Is there confetti and balloons and big "We're Back" signs on all the money shows?

Yeah, I didn't think so, lol.

Yeah, I didn't think so, lol.

Considering the DOW on March 6, 2009 was down to 6626.94 I think this is pretty good news.

That was sarcasm. I've been plugging the doubling of the DOW for quite a while now.
