Just a few weeks ago it was 3.78... that is a .36 drop.

Maybe the summer price bump up in gas prices came early and peaked

It's dropped about .30 here too. Funny how the news models are silent on the issue.

It was the spring switch to summer fuel. Happens every March. Speculators know it so they get in the mix and drive oil prices higher, which drives gas prices higher.

It was 3.39 this morning sandnsea.. keeping my fingers crossed that it stays down because that really helps push down food pricesWave

My supercharged car knocked with the gas I got recently and it's still $3.83 here, no drop at all. Perhaps we're still getting winter blend.

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

For the life of me.. I just do not understand why the prices are so different in different parts of the country.. and we are no where near refineries or oil sources.. though we do have a LOT of ethanol.. I wonder if that makes a differenceShrug

Lowest price in SeattleLand is 3.99. Current highest price is 4.25. I do think it has gone down a couple of pennies, but not much.

We dropped another 2 cents overnight Seattle.. its amazing.. I had heard that there was a ton of oil off the coasts on ships ready to process..but we do not have the refinery capacity.

I know a number of years ago a bunch of refineries shut down.. and refineries are in the private sector in the U.S. aren't they? you know I have never thought about that much.. If the refineries are private sector..than the private sector is the one that has let us down.

Refiners are private aren't they?

Figure this one out. I first moved to my current location in 1997. At that time, you could go any direction from here and the price of gas would drop. For instance, by the time you got to Eugene, it was at least 10c lower. About 5 years ago, the situation completely reversed. Now, any direction you go and the price of gas rises at least 5c a gallon, or more. Absolutely no reason that anybody can figure out. None.

I hear you, sandnsea. My family lives in the Eugene/Springfield area, and when I go there, I pay as much or more than I pay in Seattle.
