I hear you but I think we need to understand that wishing people to do or not to do is not really the challenge. We have seen all kinds of studies showing that facts don't matter. We think we can present facts and that these facts will win the day.
"Conservatives" play on fear and hate, and they mask that fear and hate in their convoluted ideological rationalization. We could drill down into the details of that but the bottom line is our real challenge is to somehow counter that "conservative" play on fear and hate, and I'm afraid that only way to do that is with current perception.
Bill Clinton had the strong wind of the then current perception of economic boom behind him, so the "conservative" smear campaign did not work against him in real time. I think it caught up with Al Gore a little, mostly because he didn't deal with it effectively. But it never really affected Bill.
It's a tough one. It's all about timing. We're in a bit of a lull right now. That will change.
