Just read through the NYT piece on Romney essentially wrapping up the nomination tonight.

Just like the GOP in general has absolutely nothing left to run on but lies and Fox News-fueled propaganda, so Romney has nothing to run on except relentlessly projecting his own utter lack of character and complete spinelessness onto the President. I won't excerpt his delusional speech here, but will post the link just for posterity's sake. One would have to want to be played for a complete fool if one were in the audience applauding him tonight:

I listened to only part of the speech and was so thoroughly disgusted by him (nothing new) that I changed the channel and watched baseball instead.

But I was also on Twitter at the time and if tweets were catcalls, Mittens' speech would have been completely drowned out.

Silence is consent.

Now that's interesting! I swear I have to stop putting off becoming Twitter-literate.

I just heard Willard won all the primaries tonight and is still short of delegates. Also had read yesterday that Newt was thinking of throwing in the towel if he didn't at least place well in Delaware where he's spent his time for this primary. That remains to be seen....he likes his threat to take over the convention, and he likes his free secret service detail. What a waste.

You're so right, Jaxx - it's to the point where it looks like they're just going to have to start up the music like they do at the awards shows in order to get Mr. Moonbase (Gingrich) off the stage. He's long past the point where anyone is paying attention to his speeches. But he can't stop craving the spotlight.

Just read this on twitter:
Earlier NC 8,600 watched pres Obama speak Tonight 10,800 watched him in #Colorado @CNN @cbsnews @Msnbc last wk Romney NC speech drew 300.

Love it that PBO is drawing the huge crowds already. Willard, eat your heart out.

That really puts the lie to Romney's attempt to paint the Prez with Romney's own abysmal leadership skills. Romney drew a whole 300 people? Good grief -- especially when you think of the types of crowds the man he's running against was drawing at a comparable time in the 2008 campaign:

Barack Obama, May 2008, Portland, Oregon

I remember that from 2008, it was a huge crowd and they were loving him.

Hello! The country felt like it was on fire with inspiration during that hard-fought primary -- it was intense, it was nail-biting, it was exciting. The whole GOP primary on the other hand has felt depressing, mind-numbing, embarrassing, uninspired, and at times, genuinely frightening to ponder that any of these delusional, and in some cases, mentally-disturbed candidates, might actually become president.
