RE: If ... Rosen count(s) as an extension of the Obama campaign, then Nugent is fair game
As noted, Romney sought out Nugent's endorsement, knowing this piece of filth has been married several times, cheating on each wife, having children out of wedlock and refusing to even pay child support until ordered to do so by a judge, a "man" who adopted his 16 year old girlfriend when he was 30, a "man" who called Hillary Clinton a "bitch," and a "man" who is now under investigation by the Secret Service for threatening the president - and what does Willard Mitt Romney have say about all this? Nothing! If Ted Nugent is the type of person Mitt Romney would seek out for an endorsement, what does that say about Mitt Romney?

Just shows me even more that Romney would sell his soul to win the election.

I would love to see TN perp walked but he'd just be a martyr for the idiots that cheered the dumb phuck at the NRA.
I was born a Truman, but you can call me Pat.

Absolutely. Rosen, who phrased something poorly, should not be compared to Ted Nugent, who advocates violence if elections don't go his way. Nugent is much more representative of why this country is going to hell and any politician who begs for his endorsement and doesn't condemn his murderous rant is as guilty of "looking the other way" when sedition is pushed as a political solution as Nugent is.

She moved into political consulting after that. She was one of Hillary Clinton's campaign consultants. She's not "somebody way back in 2003". She's somebody right now. It's outrageous to compare her to a pig like Ted Nugent. It's like comparing Michelle Obama and Snookie. It's absurd. God help us if the President ever seeks Snookie's endorsement.
I think what is being compared is that Rosen was called on her comment and Nugent hasn't been by the wingers, namely Romney. I haven't seen anyone equate the two as persons.
Rosen's name wasn't known to me before this came up. I've always been an Obama supporter.
Has any key Democrat said anything about Ted Nugent's comments? He's nuts. Why would campaign officials waste their time on Ted Nugent?? He's just one more pig in an overflowing sty. The country clearly doesn't care that we live in a pig sty. If you want to do it, do it on a slow weekend to take the focus off something else. Otherwise, stay on the current message. Women's Rights.
The reason Hilary Rosen's comment got the attention it did is because she *is* high in the Democratic Party. You simply never say, of any mother, "she never worked a day in her life". You just don't. If WE let it go, it would be over. That's why the right's gaffe's disappear. They apologize and then quit engaging, other than saying "yes, he/she apologized". It takes two to have a fight.

I'd call Debbie Wasserman Schultz a key Democrat. Letting the comments from the right slide because they're nuts is why they keep making those kinds of comments.

I'd say Nancy Pelosi was a pretty key Democrat also.
Nugent has a far greater likely impact than Rosen, who has very little linkage to the Obamas. I also had to look her up to find out who she is.
He's someone whose endorsement Romney sought and now doesn't really want to condemn for fear of angering the rabid Obama hating, gun toting mob. Who's out there calling top women elected officials "varmints."
That's really unacceptable and Democrats are absolutely correct to keep up the pressure on this one.

Same here - Nugent is a much more well-known spokesperson for the right than Rosen is for the left.

And another part of the reason the left's gaffes stay in the media is because there is always a large contingent defending nonsense that should just go away, which it would if it were "quietly ignored". Nobody is ripping Hilary Rosen's throat out. Acknowledging a poorly chosen set of words is called civility. It should, In No Way, be compared to a crazy man making crazy remarks. It's insulting to Hilary Rosen. You really think she should be put in the same garbage heap as Ted Nugent?? Send the FBI in. And for the love of god - Move The Fuck On.

To repeat: The comparison is not in the quality of the two individuals, it is how their remarks are perceived and treated among their own sides, the other side and in the media.
Whether you want to acknowledge it or not, the dynamic in play for these two sides is starkly different and has long been so. To our detriment.

If you seriously, seriously, think Ted Nugent is all that fucking important that you want to waste your wind on him - knock yourself out.
If you seriously, seriously, did not know who Hilary Rosen is - then pay more goddamn attention and don't blame ME because you weren't paying attention.
Hilary Rosen probably has more influence than Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, although certainly less than Nancy Pelosi. And Ted Nugent isn't a spit in the wind to any of them. Other than to insure the FBI pays hime a visit, he's a Colossal Waste Of Time.
If you seriously want to waste your time on Ted ShitPants Nugent - knock yourselves out. Good God. I have so much to do that FIVE of me couldn't get it all done. Ted Nugent??? Really????
Bye. Again.
That was rather confrontational. Best to stick to the subject and leave personal comments out of it.
Thank you.
