Governor Scott Walker Kills Same-Sex Couples Hospital Visitation Rights

Wisconsin Republican Governor Scott Walker just moved to prevent same-sex couples from accessing their legal hospital visitation rights, despite both Wisconsin state law and an Obama HHS mandate. Going forward, same-sex couples will not be able to be recognized as next of kin — unless they have previously taken drastic legal measures, and unless those are accepting at the hospital — during emergency room visits, or even during routine hospital procedures in Wisconsin.

I've been writing about recent events in Wisconsin and it would have been a shame not to include this newest outrage. I wasn't sure at first, but I'm starting to think that Walker senses his time is running out, and is in a hurry to do as much damage as he can while he still has the chance. But even if he smugly believes he can survive the recall, this sort of egregious action will only strengthen the resolve of those arrayed against him.

That might just be Walker's nail in the coffin. I don't think most people in Wisconsin are that hateful. I kind of think hospital visitation is the key situation that really makes most people take a step back on same-sex couple's rights.

Scott Walker is a perfect example of scum walking. He is so filled with hate that there is no room for humanity inside him. I know he will pay a grim price for the things he has inflicted on the people in Wisconsin, and its hard not to relish the thought. If anyone deserves rough Karma he certainly does.

Karma can be a good -- and cruel -- teacher. He would do well to sit down and shut up when she comes knocking at his door.
