Student removed from contest for pro-gay remark
Quote:FULLERTON – Students at Fullerton Union High School are protesting the action of an administrator who removed a classmate of theirs from a campus competition for his pro-gay comment.

He was removed from the school's Mr. Fullerton competition Tuesday night for answering a question of where he saw himself in 10 years.

The student said he hoped to find the love of his life, marry him and hoped gay marriage would be legal.

After the answer, an assistant principal took the student from the Plummer Auditorium stage and disqualified him from the competition.

RE: Student removed from contest for pro-gay remark
Quote:"The district has concluded that the matter was not handled appropriately by the assistant principal," Giokaris said. "The district believes that the matter should have been handled privately with the student by the assistant principal."

Why should the answer be handled at all, publicly or privately? The kid has a right to his goals in life. The asst. principal who purposely embarrassed the student by taking him off the stage....what kind of nut would do that?

I hope his parents raise a big ruckus over this. From what I saw this is a public school, not some religious academy.

RE: Student removed from contest for pro-gay remark
So much for the right-wing meme that our school system is trying to "indoctrinate" our youth into homosexuality! I just read another story where a student was suspended from school for wearing a pro gay marriage T-shirt. about a month ago a public school in Iowa held a mandatory assembly where the kids had to listen to anti-gay remarks from the lead singer of the "Christian" rock group Junkyard Prophet, which is part of the hate group "You Can Run But You Cannot Hide."

If anyone is trying to indoctrinate our children, it's not those on the left!
