I sat under a bridge for a few minutes to keep the hail from cracking my windshield. I think it caught a lot of us by surprise. So many lost their houses from tornado damage. The one silver-lining is there have been no fatalities reported as of yet.
I lived in Ft. Worth for a couple of years and was at a Rangers game one day. It started to rain and people started heading for the exits. Me, being from the Northwest, though, feh! What's a little rain. THEN the hail hit and I don't think I've ever moved so fast in my life! Once the hail passed, I went out to my car to go home. The windows were okay, but my car looked like someone had taken a ball peen hammer to it! YIKES! I had never in my life been in a hail storm like that!
I'm so glad that no one was killed today. I was watching the live footage when the tornadoes were happening and my gawd!
