With a single punch, Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who eventually shot and killed the unarmed 17-year-old, then Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered, authorities have revealed to the Orlando Sentinel.

That is the account Zimmerman gave police, and much of it has been corroborated by witnesses, authorities say.

When police arrived less than two minutes later, Zimmerman was bleeding from the nose, had a swollen lip and had bloody lacerations to the back of his head.

This sounds bogus to me, the man outweighed the kid by a lot. Plus who are these witnesses who saw this happen? Zimmerman wants to be the victim. Now they are going after Trayvon's character.

The police protected their cop groupie at the time, they have to continue to do so.

What do the ER records say about Zimmerman's broken nose and lacerations?

From what I've heard, it sounds like the altercation occurred in a common ground between the backs of the townhouse/apartments in the community? How did that happen if Zimmerman was walking back to his SUV? Wouldn't it have been parked outside the common area?

Prosecutors who deal with the cops often say that the police will tell some fantasy story when the truth actually sounds more logical.

Yeah, where did he get that medical care? My guess is we will have to wait for the grand jury to know anything....unless the police suddenly release the info to the media.

George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch crime captain who shot dead 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, originally told police in a written statement that Martin knocked him down with a punch to the nose, repeatedly slammed his head on the ground and tried to take his gun, a police source told ABC News.

So he outweighed Trayvon and was carrying a loaded gun, but layed on the ground calling for help? What? Then he suddenly realized he was carrying, got up and shot Trayvon?

I'm trying to imagine having my headed pounded against cement several times and still refusing medical attention. Or even being conscious. No, that doesn't add up.

I so agree with Jonathan Capehart, what the New Black Panthers are saying isn't helpful to Trayvon's death, or anyone else. It's not how this should be handled. The piece is only 2 paragraphs, I will post the first:

Blood money: $10,000 bounty on George Zimmerman

George Zimmerman should be in jail. That he remains free after killing an unarmed Trayvon Martin one month ago today is galling. His liberty makes a mockery of justice when others have gone to prison for less. But the $10,000 bounty being offered by the New Black Panther Party should be an affront to anyone who wants Zimmerman held accountable for using a 9-millimeter handgun to kill a 17-year-old armed with only an iced tea and a bag of Skittles.

It's not even a goose/gander thing unless there is some presumption that young black men are not permitted to defend themselves. Since Zimmerman pursued young Trayvon, he was well within his rights to defend himself. And in fact, Trayvon was in his right according to the law to kill Zimmerman, but since Zimmerman was the aggressor, he must be charged with murder. It matters not if Trayvon attempted to protect himself, other than Trayvon is indeed the person covered by the "stand your ground" law, and Zimmerman is the perp.
