y-Thumbs Down Romney declares he will win Latinos and most states in general election
Quote:“Those people who don’t think that Latinos will vote for Republicans need to take a look at Puerto Rico and see there that conservative principles and Latino voters go together,” he said, listing interests Latinos shared with other voters, like jobs. “I intend to become our nominee, and I intend to get Latino voters to vote for a Republican and take back the White House.”

Romney’s prediction drew cheers from his mostly white audience in a suburb north of Chicago, although the comparison between the Puerto Rican GOP electorate and the broader Latino electorate is a stretch. Romney has antagonized many Latino voters with his suggestion that illegal immigrants would self-deport under tougher federal enforcement.
...
One questioner, assuming Romney would win the nomination, encouraged him not to write off Illinois in the fall, suggesting he could win it.

“That’s encouraging. That’s encouraging. I haven’t decided whether we can get all 50 states or just close to them,” he said."

Imagine that, Republican Puerto Ricans voted Republican!

RE: Romney declares he will win Latinos and most states in general election
Romney received 95,761 votes in the Puerto Rico primary. Hillary Clinton won 263,120 votes and Obama 121,458 votes in the 2008 primary there.

Using the fact you won a Republican primary there as evidence you can connect or carry the Latino vote is tantamount to Obama winning the Utah caucus in '08 and saying he knows he can now carry A) the Mormon vote and B) the state in the general.

What a fool.

The word ignoramus was invented to describe a Republican.

(OK, I made that up, but it does seem plausable Wink )

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

Romney also said
If the Latino's didn't vote for him he would strap them to the roof of his car and drive hundreds of miles.

Isn't that the same idiot logic that was behind making Michael Steele chairman of the GOP? The problem is that they have no respect or regard for anyone that isn't white and that is no secret.

RE: Romney declares he will win Latinos and most states in general election
To paraphrase something Willard once said: “I love being in Puerto Rico,” Romney said at the social club. “Everything seems right here. You know, I come back to Puerto Rico; the palm trees are the right height. The people are the right color for this time of year, kind of a brownish-beigish sort of thing. It just feels right.”

"I give thanks for this perfect day. Miracle will follow miracle and wonders will never cease."

The universe tends to unfold as it should.

I noticed Willard was in the northern burbs when he made that ridiculous statement. He should have been out on the west side where he would be laughed off the stage.
