HBO's Game Change is a must see movie

z-Thumbsup HBO's Game Change is a must see movie
First of all let me tell you the movie is well down. I actually stayed up well past my bedtime because I intended to only watch half of it last night, but it sucked me in. Julianne Moore deserves an award for her flawless portrayal of Sarah Palin. She is a dead on ringer and plays the part to perfection.

Now on to the movie:

It was frightening to see how McCain's people manipulated the system and found ways to hide or cover up the fact that Sarah is a mean spirited, mentally unstable and very stupid woman. The fact that their lust for victory was so strong they knowingly pushed to put a complete incompetent in the White House is scarier than any horror movie.

I found it quaint when Sarah wanted to lie about her being found innocent of any wrong doing in Trooper Gate and lie about the fact that her husband was a 7 year member of the Alaska secessionist and McCain's handlers wouldn't let her. I mean Mitt, Rick and Newt have no problem tell lies as bad as that and worse.

The next most frightening scene was the future tea party members screaming for Obama's death and calling him all sorts of vile names and spewing hate filled an badly misinformed bile.

Finally McCain's comment about Sarah now being a party leader was as scary as any horror movie where you see the monster open its eyes or move its hand after you think it's dead.

So 2 thumbs up, 5 stars a movie well worth watchin

RE: HBO's Game Change is a must see movie
I've been watching it in bits and pieces. I think I'll just have to block out two hours of time and watch it all at once to get the full scope.

What struck me in the beginning is how normal and accommodating she seemed. The campaign fell for her guile and without a good vetting had no frame of reference to see through her manipulations. They thought that what she showed was what they were getting but there was a whole different Sarah behind the facade.

I have some people in my family that have personality disorders and I see many of the tell tale signs that they exhibit in Palin.

It's the old story of people (McCain's camp) seeing what they wanted to see rather than what they should have seen. The McCain camp wanted so desperately for her to be a female Ronald Reagan that they avoided looking too deeply into her character or intelligence.

It strikes me that given the GOP's revisionist history re: Reagan, that statement could almost be considered redundant!

Very true, Reagan was a mediocre president that has had a lot of post presidency PR work by the right wingers and GOP. Reagan was responsible for allowing AIDS to needlessly spread and killing countless people. Reagan cost the nation over a billion dollars because he allowed the Savings and Loan institutions to gamble with tax payer's money and Reagan should have been impeached over the Iran-Contra scandal.

That sums it all up very, very well.

I don't have HBO, so haven't seen it, but I want to. Have heard they may put it on pay-per-view and if so I'll pay to see it. The clips floating around are good, and leaves me wanting to see more. If anyone sees it will be on ppv, please post!

Agreed. It's very good. I was thinking along the same lines in that it's entertaining in the same way as a horror movie. Are there enough political horror films to constitute a genre?

You know there probably are enough of them, especially if you include movies like "1984" which, after all, is primarily about a political process gone totally corrupt and mad with power.

This movie reminded me of Barbarians at the get (the story of greed and corporate takeovers of the 80s) and a movie who's title I forget but it had Kelsey Grammer in it and it was about military contractors cheating government tests and it was all about the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle. All were based on true life, all pointed out the huge absurdities of how business was conducted.

Agreed! It was a reminder of how this
country was a "72 year old heart beat away from having Palin as the leader".

A statement by one of McCain's campaig folks....

She is still trying to pick a fight with President Obama, she can't stand that she was beaten by a blah man.......she will never get over it.
