I just saw an article in the Washington Post that would have been more appropriate as a diatribe on some Fox Noise show, maybe Beck. It was by a former aide to NC Sen. Jesse Helms, one of the fiercest champions of ignorance about issues as a matter of pride. This clown was giving advice to incoming teabaggers to obstruct, delay and in general throw procedural tantrums until they got their way. The one thing he did not exhort them to do is offer rational debate as to why their points of view have any merit. Of course, to do this, their points of view would need to
have some merit in the first place, and even this nut was observant enough to realize that such is not the case.
The article is nonetheless very instructive in exposing the tactics we can expect to see, and the mentality that provides their justification for employing them. My own comment (it is easy and free to register at WaPo), is to be found not as DFW, but under the name of my home town of Dallas plus an arbitrarily assigned suffix of the number 138. Some of the comments (feel free to add your own!) reflect our point of view. Some do not. Some will threaten to relieve you of your lunch:
