EXCLUSIVE: 141 Companies Drop Advertising From Rush Limbaugh
By Judd Legum on Mar 12, 2012 at 12:15 pm

ThinkProgress has obtained an internal memo from Premiere Radio Networks listing 96 national companies that have “specifically asked” their advertisments not be played during the Rush Limbaugh Show. Premiere is the distributor of Limbaugh’s program. The advertisers have also requested to be excluded from other right-wing hosts including Michael Savage, Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. According to the memo, the listed companies’ advertisements should be excluded from these programs because they have been “deemed to be offensive.”

Now where are the new advertisers that Rush promised?

It took awhile for Beck to finally be taken off the air, I'm willing to wait while Limbaugh keeps sinking. When the heart assn. doesn't want free advertising from Rush, it shows that some things can't be bought.

While plenty of people will watch a KKK rally
you don't see advertisers rushing to put their add's on their hoods and robes. Thanks to social media being able to spread the word about who is promoting Rush's (and his ilk) hate speech, corporations ever sensitive to their brand and image are jumping ship.

Some of these companies are, no doubt, acting proactively to ensure that there ads aren't used to fill the emptying time slots on Rush's show.

RE: EXCLUSIVE: 141 Companies Drop Advertising From Rush Limbaugh
Rush claims to have 18,000 advertisers, so there's still lots of work to do - especially on the local level as I'm sure most of those "18,000" are local advertisers.

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

U.S. Army among 141 groups pulling ads from Limbaugh

By Stephen C. Webster
Monday, March 12, 2012 13:12 EDT

A memo being circulated by the distribution company behind Republican shock jock Rush Limbaugh has revealed a massive flight from Limbaugh’s program in the wake of his offensive comments about a Georgetown law student.

The companies include major corporate players like Sony, British Petroleum, McDonald’s, NBC, Toyota, Subway, Lowes, Autozone, Geico, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, State Farm, IBM and many others.

And in a surprise reveal, it appears that the U.S. Army is among them.

<..> Even Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI), who chairs the Armed Services Committee, was leaned on by activists calling for Limbaugh to be taken off the Armed Forces Network. Levin said he would like to see Limbaugh off the network as well, but the Pentagon has not yet initiated a review. Levin added that Congress should not get involved, saying that he hopes the administrators of the Armed Forces Network will see just how offensive Limbaugh’s is and take it off the air.

I missed that in the group notice.....but if it could lead to the mouth being removed from the AFN it would be great.

Removing Rush from AFN would be sweetest of all, frankly
His rants breed sedition -- they have no place in the US military.

18,000...that seems like a stretch considering the dead air. Rush lies about so much, how can anyone believe a word he says?

RE: EXCLUSIVE: 141 Companies Drop Advertising From Rush Limbaugh
This is a website founded to keep up on the sponsors of Limbaugh...

Welcome to The StopRush Project
Doing the hard work needed to reduce all the hate emanating from America's leading gasbag: Rush Limbaugh

Status of Rush Limbaugh's Sponsors

Sponsor status can be very tricky to verify. Read our FAQ for how we do this. There are two regions in the list below, each with a "status" column.

The Top region shows Active Sponsors — who are ripe current targets for your tweets, emails, phone calls, or other pressure efforts.
The Bottom region shows Former Sponsors — who are one of two subtypes. Those with a Former status are national advertisers—commercial or nonprofits—who have dropped their ads from the show. Those with an Avoiding status have asked Premiere Networks to avoid placing their ads on Rush's show (and others). In effect, whether profit, or non-profit, advertisers now realize that any association with this kind of partisan hate radio is a negative branding that want to avoiding.
Why we show more formers than others — some published accounts are excluding non-profits. We feel this is an unnecessary and wrong distinction. Unless you're Rush or ClearChannel, it should not matter whether someone pays for an ad or not. What matters is whether they advertise at all.
