Santorum: College Students Are 'Ridiculed' For Being Conservative
Could it be that version of conservatism infecting the United States is based on lies and pandering to one's baser emotions and is why right wingers are made fun of in institutions of education and knowledge?

Quote:STEPHANOPOULOS: All he said was he wants, quote, "every American to commit to at least one year or more of higher education or career training." In your interview with Glenn Beck this week, you seemed to go further. You said I understand why Barack Obama wants to send every kid to college, because they are indoctrination mills. What did that mean?

SANTORUM: Well, of course. I mean, you look at the colleges and universities, George. This is not – this is not something that’s new for most Americans, is how liberal our colleges and universities are and how many children in fact are – look, I’ve gone through it. I went through it at Penn State. You talk to most kids who go to college who are conservatives, and you are singled out, you are ridiculed, you are – I can tell you personally, I know that, you know, we – I went through a process where I was docked for my conservative views. This is sort of a regular routine (ph). You know the statistic that at least I was familiar with from a few years ago -- I don’t know if it still holds true but I suspect it may even be worse – that 62 percent of kids who enter college with some sort of faith commitment leave without it.

Santorum really spilled his guts to Stephanopoulos today. I just listened to the whole thing and he is radical on every subject. He's one scary man.

Now SoS Clinton is calling the candidates on their rhetoric about PBO apologizing about the Koran burning.....they are getting people killed with their hard ass stances.

By his standard high school is a conspiracy to turn homosexual kids straight and nerds into jocks. After all, both those groups experience ridicule in high school.

Obviously it is a plot by the conservative anti intellectual Christian athletic apparel lobbyists.

Stop sending your kids to high school or they will become Santorumized into mindless athletic sweater vest wearing pseudo-jocks for faux-Christianity.

And we thought Palin was nuts. Santorum is taking this to a whole new level. I fully expect him to have a complete public meltdown if he actually ever makes it to a debate with Pres. Obama and has to stand still for the truth.

Fortunately he will never make it that far! The powers that be in the republican party will not allow him to ever become the nominee. If he were to get the nomination it would make the entire party look like bigger fools than they already are. It would also stop the party from trying to rid themselves of the "crazy" tea party wing of the party, the wing they created, but now need to purge because they have gotten way to far out of hand. It would also hurt them in trying to keep the House, and take over the senate. With Santorum as the nominee, turnout would be very low, although I think that may happen with Mitt also, and the down ticket candidates would suffer.

do not want him because they see the writing on the wall. I would suggest that it matters not what they want, just as we have seen with the Tepugs the Rovians can't control them. They can't control Santimonious and his followers.....the voters don't like Romney.....They the Repugs have lost complete control.....

RE: Santorum: College Students Are 'Ridiculed' For Being Conservative
Maybe they're just being ridiculed because they're so ridiculously stupid, and wrong. Like my son ridiculed conservative teachers in his high school who tried to teach him that abortion was just like the Romans leaving babies out to die, and that some electromagnetic man spirited the WMD off to Syria. Two different teachers. Oh yeah, teaching is just one ginormous mecca of liberal brainwashing.

I'd like to see his "statistics", which likely means this is made-up stats off of the top of his head. (I thought about being cruder, but this is a family audience Big Grin )

Also, are said students being ridiculed for being conservative, or for being ignorant unprincipled idiots and being busted in public for it? Makes one wonder. Shrug

Well, I got my degree in biology and I'll admit it: yup, I ridiculed the hell out of BIOLOGY majors who didn't believe in evolution. Wrong major for that crap. And yes, they were all conservative.

RE: Santorum: College Students Are 'Ridiculed' For Being Conservative
Conservatives ought to be ridiculed wherever they try to spread their hate - but especially on college campuses where the anti-education views of Republicans are too stupid to ignore.

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

Just because they don't believe in evolution, global warming, or the moon landing, they get disrespected!

I tend to agree, Andy - but the past ten years or so have taught me to never say never!

No, they get ridiculed for being willfully ignorant, dogmatically rigid, judgemental in the extreme, and they dress like their mothers bought all their clothes and are mad at them.
