Santorum: Obama 'A Snob' For Wanting Everyone To Go To College

UPDATE: Santorum supported making it easier to go to college in 2006.

TROY, MICHIGAN -- Rick Santorum is working hard in Michigan to try and cast himself as the candidate of the working class. At a speech before a tea party audience here Saturday, he made his case by accusing President Obama of trying to turn America's youth into liberal drones by sending them to college.

<..> Santorum said he knows the real reason Obama wants more Americans on college campuses.

"That's why he wants you to go to college. He wants to remake you in his image," Santorum said to more applause. "I want to create jobs so people can remake their children into their image, not his."

RE: Santorum: Obama 'A Snob' For Wanting Everyone To Go To College
My parents were working class people. My father didn't even finish 8th grade. Both of them wanted their children to be educated. The day I graduated from college, my mom was so proud of me, and I'm sure my father would have been, had he still been alive.

And they both would have scoffed at Pope Frothy's words.

Silence is consent.

Considering the number of stupid people that have voted for the repubs over the years, and continue to do so, he'll get his wish. What he and the repubs DON'T want are smart and knowledgeable people that will vote their interests and NOT vote for them.

Guess I'd better put down all those books I've been reading or I might inadvertently edjoomicate myself and become a snob like Obama.

On second thought, I'd be proud to be half as smart as our president so I think I'll keep on reading.

Santorum is so bizarre that my head is spinning. Any sane person would believe that President Obama might want everyone to go to school so they won't be as ignorant as Santorum and his audience--except for the one person nearest the camera who appears to have a headache. Santorum is one of those Republicans prejudiced against intelligence. There are a lot of them out there. Sometimes they are called tea-party people and at other times they are called right wing-nuts and a few other less speakable names. But across the board they are dangerous and always will be as long as they can keep their followers ignorant and ridiculously pliable. Its sadly reminiscent of the approach used in the early stages of taking over Germany back about three quarters of a century ago. HmmGroan

Santorum as a candidate proves more than anything that today's GOP is a cult in search of a leader.

Yes, it does. The fringe is desperate to take over and they'll take anyone who looks like an idiot to get it done. The more Santorum talks, the worse he looks to moderates who want no part of his brand of "freedom".

RE: Santorum: Obama 'A Snob' For Wanting Everyone To Go To College
From Santorum's bio on Wiki:

Quote:Santorum met his future wife, Karen Garver (born 1960), while she was a law student at the University of Pittsburgh and he was recruiting summer interns for the Kirkpatrick & Lockhart firm. She was a neo-natal nurse prior to attending law school. They married in 1990[24] and have seven living children.

And this:

Quote:Santorum attended Pennsylvania State University for his undergraduate studies, serving as chairman of the university's College Republicans chapter and graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with honors in political science in 1980.[26] He then completed a one-year Master of Business Administration program at the University of Pittsburgh's Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, graduating in 1981.

Santorum received a JD with honors from the Dickinson School of Law in 1986.

So college is only bad for other people. I, and mine, have ours now the rest of you go to hell.

He is such an idiot. I can't stand this stupid bastard. He's just throwing out red meat to more idiots and bigots. Banghead

I would like to square off with him on a few "biblical things" that he's flat out wrong on...and it's things that are supported by the almighty bible that he touts knowing. Talk about taking things out of context for his own red-meat-message.

While I find the "snob" comment crude and downright pious, what I really find ignorant is his comment, "President Obama wants everyone to go to a liberal college so they can be made in his image." This is such bullshit. He's taking a passage out of the bible and inserting Obama's name just to resonate with these people, but what he doesn't realize is, while this may work for this red-meat crowd, the general population is becoming more and more turned off by him.

If he thinks he can get elected spouting this garbage, he missed the "sermon on the mount" passage.

So true. It's also the reason so many white slave owners did not want their slaves learning anything. It's classic oppression. Keep the little man down to do your dirty work. Rolleyes
