Labor volunteers pull in buckets of cash

January 2, 2011 Organized labor continues to be the largest volunteer group helping the Salvation Army ring the bells during the Red Kettle Drive, according to a news release from Annie Deken, United Way of the Ozarks, AFL-CIO community services liaison. This year 180 volunteers participated from 11 local unions and one retiree group and they covered 17 locations. "It was an exciting day to see all the unions come together and have such a positive impact on our community," Deken said.
