Democrat Wins Very Conservative Oklahoma District By A Landslide, Other Democrats Also Win Big On Valentines Day
February 15, 2012
By Stephen D. Foster Jr.

This just in: Democrats CAN win in conservative states this year. Just ask Curtis McDaniel of Smithville, Oklahoma. House District 1 in Oklahoma is located in the Southeastern corner of the state. Traditionally, it had been a Democratic stronghold, but in 2010, a Republican captured the district for the first time, shocking the incumbent Democrat. State Rep. Rusty Farley was swept into office along with many other conservatives in a year that saw conservatives retake multiple state legislatures, governorships, and even the US House of Representatives.

But because Farley died unexpectedly in July of 2011, the district held a special election on February 14, 2012 to replace him. In a district where only 26% of the population is for President Obama, Democratic candidate Chris McDaniel won a landslide victory over his Republican opponent 62% to 28%. It’s a victory that suggests Democrats have a good chance to retake seats they lost previously in 2010.

How did this escape notice? Short article (2 more paragraphs) with good news for Democrats in Nov.

I'd love to see Democrats upsetting the repubs all over the country. Wink

Wasn't Oklahoma the only state in '08 where EVERY county voted McCain?

They make Utah look positively radical.

I wonder if the difference is that our Democratic
folks came out and voted?

If that is the case then the Republicans are sorely mis-reading 2010. Democratic supporters that did not vote may not admit they fucked up but we all know they are smart enough to know they did. I don't think that we will see a repeat of 2010 in fact I am getting the feeling the turnout for 2012 is going to be record breaking.

Why?
1. Women who fought for our rights to have birth control, and other women related issues have raised their kids and were going to take it easy.....that is until the Republican party decided to display their utter contempt for women by inviting all men to talk about women and their reproductive rights.

2. The Repugs have split their religious support into fragments.
3. The economy is getting better
4. The Republicans have shown disdain for minorities, blacks, hispanics, LGBT, poor, middle-class, American manufacturing, and the list goes on....
5. The Moderate's are not looking very pleased with the Repugs

I have been reading posts of Republicans who say if Santorum is nominated they will vote for President Obama.

Finally, the Republicans are too stupid to realize all of the above

“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”

“Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.”
