Her family included Dionne Warwick...
Cissy Houston and Aretha Franklin, and she could have been the greatest of them all.
It's just not right that she goes out like this.

RE: Whitney Houston Dead at 48 Years Old
To this day, I will still pull up her video when she sang the Star Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl.
She had the voice of an angel. RIP Whitney.

RE: Whitney Houston Dead at 48 Years Old
Can't believe she's gone.
I always liked this Chaka Kahn cover - make it full screen and watch. Gave me a big ol' lump in my throat.
Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid
The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

Wow, I had never seen that video. Thanks TINS! It was great to watch it.
Besides being one of my favorite disco era songs, it really encapsulates her at her prime - very apropos. So many great stills & video clips of her at different events.

We can assume you hated her singing
The only song of hers that grated on me was "I will always love you". I just assumed it was because it was a chick song. At the time it was popular I used to plug my ears and run away when it was on - which was often. Otherwise she had a fabulous voice.

Yep. For me it was the song "I'm Every Woman" I posted above.

The Star Spangled Banner always touches
me when I hear her version. She never mangled the words, she was enthusiastic and made me enthusiastic.....
What a talent.....gone to young.
