Democrats for Progress Blog, the week in review
If you haven't checked out the DFP blog this week, here's what you missed:
Slouching Towards Tampa wonders "Where are they now?" and looks at the predictably peculiar post-candidacy doings of Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Herman Cain and Jon Huntsman. In her newest Rant, Nance Greggs notes that the presidency of George Walker Bush seems to have been completely forgotten by his own party. Why aren't they all still yammering about the "popular wartime President" they never shut up about for eight horrible years? In an interview with Chris Howard, Steven Leser dismantles the myths of Reaganomics so thoroughly that it ought to shame even Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney out of touting such supply side sophistry. Kona Kane tells the devastating, Dickensian tale of Mitt Romney's day as a member of the working poor. Of course, the real Mitt Romney probably thinks that making $374,327.62 a year in speaking fees qualifies him as "working poor". He needs to read Kona's piece. This week's Take Five applauds Knoxville restaurateur Martha Boggs for turfing a bigot, praises VoteVets for helping West Point avoid a major embarrassment, mocks John Boehner, mourns Camilla Williams and Don Cornelius, and offers some comments about two members of the Santorum family. Chris Weigant's Friday Talking Points recaps a good week for Democrats, a week that saw the President talk about what Jesus what really do instead of what conservatives pretend He would do, and Republicans trying to talk about a large demographic they only just discovered exists, the poor. And RL Gardner's Sunday Talks reminds us that football's not the only game in town for our viewing pleasure today. Support your local blog!
