This is an honest guess 'cause looking up the answer would be no fun...

"Something" by The Beatles

My guess:
"Stairway to Heaven"

I haven't googled the answer either; just guessing.

I'll guess White Christmas.

RE: Question of the Week #7
What was the song that was the most popular and the most played one on American radio during the 20th century?

The answer is.......
You've Lost That Loving Feeling, it was played over 8 million times.

You've lost that loving feeling - The Righteous Brothers

From 1964-5......a most righteous song. Loved it and still carry a cassette of the Righteous Brothers greatest hits in the car.

The song was redone by many artists and they all comprise the 8 million plays of the song....but nobody did it better than the Righteous Brothers (Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield) for me.

Personally, I think Unchained Melody (1965) was better....that was one awesome song.

Wow.... I would never in a million years have guessed that song. It's not bad but the most played?

RE: Question of the Week #7
I would guess most played would be White Christmas too. But outside of that, I'd narrow down to Sinatra, Elvis, and Beatles. Sheer volume of time would probably knock out MJ and later stars. Probably something by Elvis. Fools Rush In?
