Low IQ linked to conservative politics, prejudice
Well if that don't beat all. Suddenly a lot of things are making sense.

------------------

Low IQ & Conservative Beliefs Linked to Prejudice

There's no gentle way to put it: People who give in to racism and prejudice may simply be dumb, according to a new study that is bound to stir public controversy.

The research finds that children with low intelligence are more likely to hold prejudiced attitudes as adults. These findings point to a vicious cycle, according to lead researcher Gordon Hodson, a psychologist at Brock University in Ontario. Low-intelligence adults tend to gravitate toward socially conservative ideologies, the study found. Those ideologies, in turn, stress hierarchy and resistance to change, attitudes that can contribute to prejudice, Hodson wrote in an email to LiveScience.

"Prejudice is extremely complex and multifaceted, making it critical that any factors contributing to bias are uncovered and understood," he said.

Low IQ linked to conservatism? How the hell did I become a liberal?

So, stupid breeds right wing thinking, which breeds more stupid.

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

That was so interesting to read. And kids are raised by the parents they have...and gather those ideas to be truths.

That's a good observation, and they say such in so many words in the article. It's basically Teh Stupid in a feedback loop.

I've met smart and educated freepers, neo-cons, and racists, but most tend to be on the low IQ and less educated side.

This explains Bush's Backwash, but not the two guys in corner offices I work with. One is rabid... Drudge and Limbaugh rabid. The other less so, admitting the vacant mental acuity of Palin for example. They are an enigma to me.
