Pro Left Insult Obama Every Chance They Get: Case Study #2: Huffington, Michael Moore

If you want to quibble with President Obama’s State of the Union address last night, feel free. This is a free country, after all, even if the right wing would like for everyone to be less free. But the speech was masterful for two reasons. First, it laid out a bold vision for the future that every progressive should be excited about. But just as importantly, it used the Republican Party’s own rhetoric to frame the issues.

Yes, Obama is a great speaker, but America is back? Tell that to the 23 million people who are under-or unemployed.

And he implied war w/Iran was an "option". Um, NO. No it isn't. Otherwise, a good speech siding w/ the 99% employing the sentiment of #OWS.

<..> Words matter. Rhetoric matters. And most of all, the TRUTH matters. And they all matter because the American people matter, and the people need progressives to take their turn at bat. We have to become smarter, politically. And that means taking everything a self-proclaimed “progressive” tells you with a grain of salt, and check the facts before drawing conclusions. Yes, folks, that includes me. No one is always right; always check facts. Believing everything the professional left says just makes you gullible, not smarter.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. They are not entitled to their own facts. Like their counterparts on the right the PL plays fast and loose with the facts and the truth.

I thought he made sense this time too. Though the PL may have only one personal vote their goal is to influence others. By distorting the facts those who are against, or independent, may well decide the distortion is the truth. Calling out those distortions is how the playing field stays level.

Arianna knows how to snark, but not how to actually stick her neck out and support a cause -- that doesn't add up to being a useful progressive. Moore was a disgrace during the lead up to the passage of HCR, rarely discussing the bill in a constructive manner, and misleadingly opining that no assistance would be available to anyone before 2014 - literally saying Democrats were leaving people to die in the streets. If Moore had his pony, we would have no Affordable Care Act now, just the continued pipe dream of passing single-payer in a teabagger-controlled House. The people whose lives were saved because of ACA might be dead now if it hadn't passed, but as long as the ideology is alive, viva la ideology! And that's the professional left in a nutshell. It doesn't matter if people literally suffer and die -- ideology (profitable ideology) trumps all.

Milt is right -- the prof-left does just as much damage as Fox News - worse, because they seem to have only one goal - to demoralize those would vote Democratic. And as Milt points out, so many of them are not even Democrats, but many are former Republicans, Nader-ites, Ron Paul supporters, LaRouchies -- everything but an actual Democrat. It's time (past time) to say "no" to their nonsense.

Milt, I give you a standing ovation.

Their distortions are equal to the distortions of Fox ( which is the biggest and most obvious) and the RW.
