The republican wagons are beginning to circle...
around Mitt Romney..

No links to any story.. just watching what is happening.

If the chestnut is true that republicans nominate whose ever turn it is.. it will be Romney, and he is going to lose..

And the 2016 nominee will be Huntsman.

The Bush debacle in only three years back.. and even the most uniformed of the independents know who messed up what. President Obama will be reelected. What the republicans are fighting for most of all.. is trying to distance themselves from the mess they created so they can get it all back in 2016 and get the Senate in 2012.

I think if our people are diligent.. we will get the house.. and possibly lose the senate.. but if wind blows right.we could even keep the senate.

The republicans are setting up for 2016.. and Huntsman is going to be formidable..

Thoughtful responses are the first victims of partisan passions.

RE: The republican wagons are beginning to circle...
I agree they are circling the wagons. It's noticeable in all but Perry who didn't have the message yet this morning. But Newt's super PAC put the big ad out today.....maybe they don't care. I hope they keep ripping each other apart.

They sure forgot Reagan all of a sudden!
I remember several months back when the GOP was all about St. Ronnie! Every day a new St. Ronnie miracle to be shown and glorified! I kept saying they had so little in the way of candidate fodder that they were running a dead man for office!

Sure didn't take long for them to forget St. Ronnie's 11th Commandment!

Perry backs off 'vulture' attack on Romney and Bain
By NBC's Carrie Dann

BLYTHEWOOD, SC -- The vulture flies no more.

Gov. Rick Perry's address to about 40 diners at famed Southern cookin' joint Lizards Thicket Thursday offered a healthy helping of anti-Obama rhetoric with a side of swipes at the "insiders" who are running for the presidency.

But his least appetizing metaphor for Mitt Romney -- one in which he graphically compared Romney's former company Bain Capital to a vulture picking at the carcasses of damaged companies -- had vanished from his speech.

<..> The wave of Bain attacks has subsided as conservative commentators ripped Perry for being "anti-free-market" and providing fodder for Democratic critics of Romney, should the presumed frontrunner become the GOP's nominee.

<..> Perry's tempered criticism comes against the backdrop of a defection by a top Perry backer, Barry Wynn, to Romney's campaign. Wynn told the Associated Press that the Texas governor's recent attacks on Romney's record at Bain had spurred his decision to switch sides in the primary.

And so the GOP begin the rewrites of the 2012 campaign. It won't go away fellas, there is this guy named Barack Obama who won't be afraid to use all the pubbies comments right back on to Willard.

Huckabee (!) Defends Romney on Bain

By David Weigel

| Posted Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at 2:15 PM E

And now here comes Huckabee, in a message to his e-mail list, calling for a ceasefire from the Republicans (really just Newt Gingrich) criticizing Bain Capital.

Romney has come under a lot of fire for Bain Capital's investments in some companies that were then scaled down with layoffs to become profitable. That's been demonized thoroughly by the media as corporate raiding, But it's surprising to see so many Republicans embrace that leftwing argument against capitalism....

<..> One more Republican voice telling everyone to shut up about this.
