Newt Goes Ballistic On Pretty Much Everyone

<..> When Newt rocketed to the top of the polls in December, he had little money or organization to sustain his momentum against a barrage of negative ads from pro-Romney Super PAC Restore Our Future and Newt placed fourth in Iowa. Newt preached a positive message through the caucuses, but now that his own Super PAC is planning to attack Romney, he’s going negative, slamming the former governor on raising taxes in Massachusetts while his Super PAC backers go after Mitt’s record at Bain Capital.

But Mitt isn’t the only target. For weeks, Newt has used every chance he can get on the trial to call Ron Paul “dangerous.” Paul of course, beat him in Iowa and out-polls him in New Hampshire.

Now you can add Santorum to Newt’s hit list as well. Last week, Newt floated the idea that he and Rick Santorum could form an alliance to try and stop Romney. But not this week. Now Santorum is fair game too.

<..> But Newt is not the candidate he was this fall. Now he says he would vote for Obama over Ron Paul, and is helping Democrats by lobbing liberal critiques at both Romney and Santorum.

Club For Growth Says Gingrich Should Apologize To Romney

"Create profit for investors"?? Are you kidding me? They are nothing but warmed over corporate raiders. They are hired ghouls to come in and kill struggling businesses so the investors can pick the bones clean.

Lauer to Newt: Aren't You Making Obama's Eventual Attack on Romney?

On Monday's Today, NBC's Matt Lauer dwelt on an "extremely negative" attack on frontrunner Mitt Romney from a super PAC that supports Newt Gingrich and asked the former Speaker, "Can't you already hear the ads from President Obama's team saying this is a guy whose own party members called him...a predator and ruthless?" Back on January 4, CBS similarly played up Gingrich calling Romney a "liar."

<..> The NBC journalist then raised the possibility of his GOP opponent being the nominee and how the President's reelection campaign may use the Republican infighting to their advantage:

LAUER: But considering the fact that Governor Romney- considering the fact that Governor Romney may eventually be the nominee of the party, can't you already hear the ads from President Obama's team saying this is a guy whose own party members called him a corporate raider, a predator, and ruthless?

Gingrich replied, "Any Republican who gets the nomination is going to have [David] Axelrod and Obama figuring out every possible way- they are going to raise a billion dollars. They're not raising- as the governor himself said in your quote, this ain't bean bag. They aren't going to raise a billion dollars for fun. They're going to come after any Republican."
