Who is George?
OMG... you are so not a Trekkie or you'd never, ever, ever ask that question.
George Takei is Lt. Sulu from the original Star Trek.
Aha, so he's an actor! I haven't seen much Star Trek, at least only enough to know the actor names for Capt. Kirk and Spock!

Oh MY!
This is one of the many reasons why George is so awesome they had to create a new scale to measure it.
Thanks RoyG, now I know who George is and yes.....he is awesome.
Lt. Sulu was in the original Star Trek series on television, never mind the movies. I used to watch them every week, and they were the first sci fi on film that was ever any good at all -- seriously, ground breaking television with great characters and themes.
When Takei showed up all these years later as a gay rights advocate and got married and turned out to be a wonderful and witty spokesman too, that was the icing on the cake.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever does. ~Margaret Mead~
The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

Funny thing is that's not even his page. It started earlier this year in response to a pun Takei made, thus the title. (Takei apparently loves puns. There's at least one a day posted to his personal FB page.) He endorsed it, and naturally it took off.
He's awesome.
