Sandusky waives hearing, vows to fight charges

BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) - Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky opted against forcing his accusers to make their claims of child sex abuse in a packed courtroom Tuesday but then took his case to the courthouse steps as his lawyer assailed the credibility of the alleged victims and witnesses.

"There will be no plea negotiations," defense lawyer Joseph Amendola said. "This is a fight to the death."

Waiving such a preliminary hearing is not unusual but it was unexpected in this case: Amendola repeatedly had said his client was looking forward to facing his accusers. Afterward, he called the cancellation a "tactical decision" to prevent the men from reiterating the same claims they made to the grand jury.

<..> Amendola said he believed some of the young men may have trumped up their claims and that others may came forward in a bid to make money by suing Sandusky, Penn State and the charity Sandusky founded.

As usual, the creeps are trying to turn Sandusky into the victim by cutting down the integrity of the real victims. I hate this part of our system. It's wrong.

It's the act of a desperate man. He doesn't even really have the chance of winning this way, there are too many accusations. To go that direction he has to stipulate at least 8 people lying in a nearly identical way, without having coordinated their testimony.

I read one news story that his attorney waived the PH to avoid the judge raising his bail amount.

I suspected as much. His attorney must think he's guilty as sin.

JoePa knew something... he had to. This has gone on too long and with too many kids.

I'm trying to avoid the topic with my Penn State Alumni pals... I love them and hate seeing their pain at seeing a fallen hero.

It's been my experience that Karma saves up through such delays. Justice and Karma are going to start their dance any time now.
