EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - Roy Foster certainly knows a lot about bringing joy to some local households as the holiday season rolls around.

As head of the sixth annual AFL-CIO's "Fly Home for the Holidays" campaign, a promotion in which the union's local Central Labor Council seeks requests from area residents who want two relatives flown back to southern New Jersey for the festive time of the year, Foster has a big hand in spreading December joy.

"Being in a labor movement is about meeting and helping people in the community," he said. "If we can help in some small way, especially at this time of the year, then we're fulfilling our mission."

He may not be Santa Claus, but Foster - the president of the Atlantic and Cape May County AFL-CIO CLC - comes pretty close.
