I bought something Made In The USA
Just when you think everything you buy is cheap Chinese crap, an item turns up that is actually made in this country.

Last week my 25 year old Granite Ware roasting pan gave up the ghost with a hole in the base allowing juice to leak through making a mess of my oven. So this week I bought a new Granite Ware roasting pan and noticed it's still made in the US.

I have no idea how many products are still made here but this pan is every bit as good and appears to have the potential to be as long lasting as my last pan, and maybe the best part is it was only $12. Tell me why aren't we making more products in this country and putting Americans back to work?

I try my best to buy Made in the USA when I shop. Nothing by mouth for my family or dogs from China either.

I was born a Truman, but you can call me Pat. Wave

I hear ya on the food products. Even something as common as canned mushrooms are coming from China now. The area of PA I was from used to be called the 'mushroom capital of the world'. They were grown in these huge bunker-like buildings that smelled really, really bad. But the mushrooms were grown here under what I could assume are safe conditions. I noticed a few years ago that the place of origin on the cans is now China, and I stopped buying them. WTF?!

But we can't import drugs from Canada or Mexico because they might make us sick. lol. Why do we put up with this.

Did you guys hear about pizza being declared a vegetable for school lunches? And the potato industry getting processed french fries back in schools? Lobbies pushing Congress around again. I think the Occupy movement needs to branch out and hit some Con-Agra and Monsanto facilities.

I've heard about that. I guess it's ok for the food industries to "push us around" and have children eat junk that will make them sick but not for the First Lady to want school children to eat healthful food which idiots like Limbaugh has called 'pushing us around'.

I remember when Reagan declared ketchup a vegetable. That's a really filling lunch!

We make our products in a factory right here in NH using good old fashioned USA labor. Female owned, made in the USA - gotta love it.

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

I think it's great. The US needs to do more to promote its own products. It shouldn't come as shock, albeit a pleasant one, to find out something is manufactured here.
