She's an impressive lady! So glad she won, really looking to hear more from her in coming days!

To prepare for when your life flashes before your eyes, make sure it's fun to watch.

Yes, we might as well start scoping out strong and fearless Dems now. You know that asshole Newt Gingrich launched TheAmericano.com for conservative republicans to gather Good luck with that Sarcasm Though we lost a lot in the election, Latinos voted 60 percent Dem and with leaders like Harris, I doubt that our Hispanic brothers and sisters will vote in large numbers for Republicans. The big tent still envelops us all! Dlogo

I was just discussing her with my cousin; a judge. He's overjoyed that she pullet it out.

Rome wasn't built in a Day,
this shit didn't happen overnight, and 30 minute sitcoms are only on TV!

I haven't asked him......but he might. We were discussing her views on the death penalties. He sounded excited at the prospect that she's against it....although, of course, she has to enforce it, as it is the law in Cal. He said it would be interesting to see what develops on that front.

I shook her hand once at a big Obama SF Rally that she was hosting early during the 2008 campaign....before Iowa.

Unbelievable, I didn't know she was such a force, let alone being the first to endorse the president here in California. I love her statement that she's more Smart on Crime rather than tough on crime - a real thinker and someone to watch! Sometimes I wish I lived up in Northern California - so much news about the movers in our party up your way.

What I find weird living here in SF is that there is no love for local politicians. A hit piece was printed in the SF Weekly shortly before the election on Ms Harris. It didn't pull any punches.

I'm thrilled Harris pulled it out. The protracted vote count made me nervous.

Is féidir linn.

Oh, I'd love to read that failed hit piece. I read in The Huffington Post that Karl Rove stuck his dirty nose into that race.

Yesterday, Ami Bera wrote about Karl Rove protecting Dan Lungren. Today he went statewide. A shadowy Virginia-based group funded by the oil industry, tobacco companies, and health insurance industry -- and run by Karl Rove -- is trying to sway the outcome of the race for California Attorney General. This is an unprecedented move in a down-ballot race, and the money is being used to create cynical commercials for political gain.

Rove's group, the "The Republican State Leadership Committee," has purchased $1.1 million of TV airtime to run vicious ads attacking our campaign. And who exactly is funding this group's attacks? The very polluters, cigarette manufacturers, and insurance industry giants who I will stand up to as Attorney General.

Of course we are going to stand up to this outside money through our grassroots support.

To be clear, these are many of the usual Republican suspects. Organizations that fight against environmental and consumer protections are lining up to come to the aid of Steve Cooley, because they know that Cooley will fall into line with their agenda.

This is the article: http://blogs.sfweekly.com/thesnitch/2010...trials.php

The Republicans are trying to get a stranglehold on this country at the local and state levels. I'm really happy California went DEEP BLUE the last election.

Here's the current tripe: "Left Coast Imperialists" in which they, SF Weekly, goes after Harris, Pelosi, and Newsom:

Wow OET has A LOT of venomous people. I won't be checking that site out again!

The last piece was really well written but no wonder it failed to do the job of bringing down Harris. From the article, my overall sense is that she is trying to keep the innocent out of prison and as one person said "...it also furthers an important goal — to bring the punishment in line with what it should be."I don't understand how the author and supporters think it is completely her fault that conviction rate has fallen when all jury cases are cited. I don't think that it is such a bad thing to have strong prosecutors, defense attorneys and public defenders who are after the truth and not just convictions.

Thanks for the latest link, Eliz SF! It really helps in the sanity department understanding what makes your part of the state blue and mine red.
