Conservative attack ad pulled amid concerns it falsely accuses Tester over EPA farm dust rules

HELENA, Mont. — A conservative group's Television advertisement has been pulled from a cable network amid complaints from U.S. Sen. Jon Tester that it falsely accuses him of supporting tougher rules for farm dust.

The ad from Crossroads GPS claims that Tester "voted against preventing Obama's EPA from being able to regulate Montana farmers' dust."

<..> The ad bases its claim on a procedural vote to stop amendments on an unrelated bill, which Republicans later wanted to amend with a ban on farm dust regulations.

Good, call them on their lies. Karl Rove, you aren't going to get by with it anymore.

<..> UPDATE: Friday 7:17 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. -- Nate Hodson of Crossroads said in defense of the pulled ad, "It was a very small cable system. The four largest broadcast stations in Montana reviewed the facts supporting the ad and will continue airing it."

He said later, "We are communicating with the cable system and expect that the ad will be back up and running on cable soon."

WATCH the Montana ad:

Does that mean they are demanding the cable system air the ad?

It appears this is actually a Bush Era regulation that has been in the courts since 2006. And dust, and grain chaff, causes lung cancer. I didn't think that was debatable in the least. Dust also destroys rivers and fish habitat. Lots of reasons that regulations might be needed, but I can also see where Tester could lose the race over this. This is the kind of thing that makes red state voters laugh hysterically and dismiss the idea of EVER voting for a Democrat.

I was thinking I'm sure glad I don't live around that dust. It's an Orwellian world where they're fighting over who wants more cancer causing dust in the air.

Wow. They're still pushing the farm dust conspiracy. EPA has said several times that they aren't proposing or working on any new farm dust regulation. Yet, Republicans keep lying and pretending it might happen.

The whole bill is really about gutting regulation on industrial polluters. Shameless liars.

Shameless liars is right! The pubs know they're lying but the public will eat up the lies and think they're real. And vote for a pub. More media should refuse to run these ads.

But they saw it on the teevee machine, so it must be true!
