GOP senators, Lieberman press for Iraq hearing
<..> In a letter to Chairman Carl Levin on Wednesday, the lawmakers said the complete withdrawal of American troops likely will be seen as a "strategic victory by our enemies in the Middle East," especially Iran. They said military commanders have told them of the need for a U.S. presence in Iraq beyond this year. They asked for a hearing with administration officials.

Signing the letter was the panel's top Republican, Sen. John McCain, 10 other Republicans and independent Joe Lieberman.

Must be all those voter paid for trips to Iraq used to undermine the US policies that got them the information! Nono

One more year of Lieberman, I hope the country can survive it.

Bloodthirsty hegemonic criminals.

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

So let me get this straight....

The GOP has loudly and frequently "reminded" the nation that even GWB had an exit plan for complete troop withdrawal from Iraq, and in fact would have done it sooner than Obama has.

Yet now, they want no troop withdrawal at all. Most likely because a Black Democratic president is bringing the troops home.

Oh, and before I forget, have I told everyone recently how much I despise that motherfucking asshole Joe Lieberman?

So Joe's interests generally align with those of a particular ally in the region. How does he get away with that? Imagine if a Senator went out of his way to favor policies of Japan or Armenia or Finland based almost entirely on their genetic ties to said country? I think it's not unreasonable to question his loyalty to his country.
