Ad blasts Romney housing comment
Quote:WASHINGTON - The Democratic National Committee will begin airing a 30-second TV ad in Arizona today, blasting GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney for saying the housing industry should not try to stop foreclosures but should let the process "run its course and hit the bottom."

The DNC chose Arizona to run the ad because the state has one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation. The ad, titled "Underwater," will run for about a week. It will air on CNN, MSNBC and five Valley stations: Channel 3 (KTVK), Channel 5 (KPHO), Channel 10 (KSAZ), Channel 12 (KPNX) and Channel 15 (KNXV).

Good ad. They ought to run it nationwide. Huge difference between PBO wanting to help and Mittens saying let them hit bottom.

Mittens is totally, absolutely, and ridiculously CLUELESS.

Yeah, let's just let millions more people get thrown out of their homes, millions more see their equity evaporate and go underwater on their loans, millions more houses sitting empty throughout the country, becoming even more worthless every day the banks own them.

Like the current crop of unsold, foreclosed houses are currently being snapped up by investors.

If he thinks that only Democrats are getting foreclosed on, he's even a bigger idiot than I thought previously.

Just another silver spoon, trust fund, born on third base thinking he hit a triple son of wealth and privilege.

It's a great ad to run in AZ.
AZ is one of the worst states for foreclosures and Romney's stance won't sit well with many people here. If you haven't been foreclosed on, then you know someone who has been or you've seen several homes in your own neighborhood that have sat empty for a long time due to foreclosure.
AZ has a large Mormon population that would be likely to vote for him based on religion alone.
And if enough people in these groups can be shown what a jackass Romney is, AZ could legitimately have a chance to swing to the Dems in '12. That is not as far fetched as it might seem. AZ did go to Clinton in '96.
Of course, this assumes Romney will be the Republican nominee. Honestly, it's hard to image any of the other losers winning it but hey, stranger things have happened.

This born and bred Utah kid says that Mittens...even for an LDS Republican...is way off the radar. I have to believe even someone like John Huntsman regards Mitt's views with a horrified gasp in the protection of his private moments.

This sounds farfetched to us but Mittens is not alone in his thinking.

I heard the head of a national real estate trade association interviewed on PBS say that the housing market would have bottomed out and fully recovered by now if the federal government hadn't interfered with the process. Rolleyes

They just don't seem to realize this is about something much more important than a house. It's about the people that live in that house.
