Jindal Re-Elected in a Landslide
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal Re-Elected in a Landslide

Published October 22, 2011

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Saturday easily coasted to a second term, winning in a landslide election after failing to attract any well-known or deep-pocketed opposition.

The 40-year-old Republican overwhelmed nine competitors in the open primary, where a candidate wins the race outright if he or she receives more than 50 percent of the vote.

<..> His win comes amid the virtual collapse of the Democratic Party's clout in the state. In the current term, Republicans have gained control of all seven statewide elected posts and both chambers of the legislature.

Good grief, how much redder can Lousiana get? The snarky comment about the Democratic Party..... Puke

After the disastrous treatment of people in New Orleans when Katrina hit, you'd think the good folks in Louisiana would send the Republicans packing.
But what do I know. I live in a county that keeps re-electing that asshat Arpaio. Shrug

What I got out of it is that the people are mad about the drilling being stopped when the BP gusher happened. They take their oil seriously down there......never mind what an environmental mess the oil caused, drill baby drill.

So the strategy of running to the right hasn't worked out in the long term for Louisiana Democrats.
What a surprise. Rolleyes

Landslide? He had virtually no opposition. Pretty easy to get a "landslide" under those circumstances, right?

Clout?...the Dems have no clout in Louisiana?

wow...that completely explains the illegal cash transactions on garage sales and good will sales in LA. ..... gotta help the banks out with those fees Smile Only Reps could come up with that little gem.
