Asked this past Sunday whether Iran’s involvement in an alleged plot to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the U.S. amounted to an act of war, Cain told “Meet the Press” moderator David Gregory:
“After I looked at all of the information provided by the intelligence community, the military, then I could make that decision.”

Pressed on the issue, Cain added: “If, if it’s an act of war, and the evidence suggests that, then I am going to consult with my advisers and say, ‘What are our options?’”

<..> Cain’s lack of detailed answers on foreign policy matters have not hurt him in the GOP presidential primary thus far for three reasons: 1) the Republican electorate is almost exclusively focused on the economy; 2) his candor is part and parcel of his “not a politician” appeal; 3) in a crowded Republican field, he’s been able to mask what he doesn’t know easily and effectively.

Cain dodges anything but 9-9-9.

One of the worst things is that in Republicanworld, ignorance is not something they're ashamed of. Ignorance is something they wear like a badge of honor. "You can have a beer with me, since I don't know who is Prime Minister of England either!"

That's fine for your local bar, not for the Oval Office.

They are unashamed to be hypocritical and they wear their ignorance like a badge of honor. Why some people keep voting them into power is one of the biggest unsolved mysteries in the history of the world IMHO.Banghead

Exclusive: Herman Cain’s Spokesman Lobbied For Nonprofit Exposed As Front For Military Contractors

By Lee Fang on Oct 17, 2011 at 10:15 am

A scandal surrounding Atlantic Bridge, a conservative “think tank” exposed earlier this month by U.K. regulators as a front group for Tory party interests and corporate lobbyists, has jolted Prime Minister David Cameron’s government. Over the weekend, allegations stemming from the Atlantic Bridge pay-to-play scheme resulted in the resignation of Liam Fox, Cameron’s Defense secretary. But the controversy may also hit a high profile American politician: GOP presidential contender Herman Cain.

<..> The Daily Telegraph reports that Werritty and Fox attended Atlantic Bridge-organized defense contractor parties in the United States as well, including one at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Washington, DC. The fundraising party, held in September last year, featured John Falk, a representative for a private security firm with work for the government in Pakistan, a lobbyist named Clark Judge, as well as a defense industry lobbyists like Powell Moore and Jeffrey Gordon. Gordon’s lobbying firm website lists American Bridge as a client.

Earlier this month, Gordon was named chief spokesman for the Herman Cain for president campaign. Gordon had acted as a top foreign policy adviser before his promotion. According to the DailyCaller, Gordon’s official title with the Cain campaign is “Vice President, Communications; Senior Adviser, Foreign Policy & Security.”
