Hey, kids, the Rude Pundit knows that now that a bunch of idiots in Florida sat around and thought, "Well, shit, we like that Godfather's pizza" and gave him the win in their caucus or straw poll or whatever the fuck it was, Republican presidential candidate is now America's Next Great Negro, but Herman Cain is kind of nuts. Oh, sure, he'll put on a good face of sanity, but it's way more fun to look at the shit he said back before he decided this whole running for president thing looked like a good racket. What's most fascinating is to see his engagement with issues of race.

Like on April 20, 2005, when, in his "column" (if by "column," you mean, "a pathetic attempt to exploit the novelty of being a conservative black guy for fun and profit"), Cain compared Democrats who opposed privatizing Social Security to Jim Crow-era racists who made blacks drink from separate water fountains. No, really: "[C]ongressional Democrats do not want all Americans to drink from the same retirement fountains. They insinuate that we are not smart enough to ride in the front of the retirement bus with them." And that includes the Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP: "[B]lack Democratic leaders," he wrote, "are willing to see the next generation of Blacks remain in economic slavery on the Democratic plantation." Dude, that's not just playing the race card. That's keeping a few race cards up your sleeve to win every trick.

There is a GOP debate on Tues. the 11th. Cain will raise taxes on the poor and middle class with his 9-9-9 thing, he's a businessman ya know. What is it the repubs like about him besides this?

What does he even mean? SS is not based on race in any way. His analogies make no sense.

I will not take him seriously as a candidate until or unless he begins winning actual Republican primaries- which IMHO he won't. He will fizzle out sooner or later. The GOP primary- as things stand now- will IMHO be between Romney and Perry and Romney will probably be the nominee if for no other reason than he's got the organization, donors, and the "flexibility" shall we say to be whatever the GOP "base" needs him to be at any given moment and (mostly) say the "right" things that the GOP rank and file (and Tea Party wing) need and want to hear. Plus, since he's "unemployed", he's got nothing else to do but focus on running for POTUS.

Well rounded in his knowledge he ain't. Why would people want to vote for someone who won't bother to work at what doesn't interest him? And the only thing I've seen that does interest him is his 9-9-9 crapola.

Comparing the gravitas of the President to any one of these R Clowns - the voters are not going to have a tough time deciding who can do the job.

Cain talks as if it doesn't matter if he knows anything!

President Obama would be able to answer that question, and could back when he was running. I have no doubt of that.

The biggest embarrassment regarding the Shrub was his lack of knowledge and shallow view of foreign policy. That is the one thing that really did change when President Obama took office. Hope the voters remember that! One of the President's top strengths is the way he represents us abroad. We do not need to go back to another such clown who considers knowing about foreign countries a "gotcha question."
