Priebus Dismisses ‘War On Women’ As Fictional, Like ‘War On Caterpillars’
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus Dismisses ‘War On Women’ As Fictional, Like ‘War On Caterpillars’

Citing attacks on abortion and contraception rights, many liberals have accused Republicans of waging a “war on women.”

But in an interview with Bloomberg TV, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus dismissed these charges as entirely baseless. He comparing the “war on women” to a “war on caterpillars,” blaming the media for trumping up the supposedly fictional attacks on women’s rights:

“If the Democrats said we had a war on caterpillars and every mainstream media outlet talked about the fact that Republicans have a war on caterpillars, then we’d have problems with caterpillars,” Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital with Al Hunt” airing this weekend. “It’s a fiction.”

<..> Update
“Reince Priebus’ comparison of Republican attempts to limit women’s access to mammograms, cervical cancer screenings, and contraception to a ‘war on caterpillars’ shows how little regard leading Republicans, including Mitt Romney, have for women’s health. … Reince Priebus’ comments today only reinforce why women simply cannot trust Mitt Romney or other leading Republicans to stand up for them.”

Priebus talks like Romney.....stupid. How will he walk this one back?

Yes the GOP is now taking the position
that women are simply incapable of understanding stuff like this. Good thing the GOP provides big strong smart men to try and do the thinking for all the women in this Country. The GOP lack of familiarity with reality is proving to be a real handicap. I guess we should have foreseen this development. That the people raised on GOP propaganda would eventually start taking over the reigns of power and don't understand that their positions are based on lies

I see visions of the old white politician patting a woman on the head and saying don't worry your pretty little head about politics, it's mens business.
Their condescending attitudes towards women's rights are infuriating.

Brilliant move comparing women to insects
What's next tell them to go to the kitchen and make you a sandwich?

Wow, women been compared to livestock, and now we're bugs? Wow

What's next? Being compared to some inanimate object?

Silence is consent.

People step on caterpillars, the GOP steps on women. I see where they are coming from and it's a nasty position.

What he meant to say is that it's made up like the fake "war on christmas." Still not a true claim, but at least he could give a better example of a made-up war.

They can't walk this back and no matter
how much they try to say they were misunderstood. They will claim that the media twisted what they said. The talking point to today is that "There is no war on women, it's just the Democratic party making much ado about nothing"!

No they don't get women and they don't get that we are going to make sure that we make them pay for the games they have decided to play with our lives.
