On the dissonance of Boehner's statement of "humility" and his selection of
a big gavel. Did anyone else find that telling? Couple that with the scold he gave which was equally dissonant on how the rules would be open but the minority did not have the right to "disrupt" the work of the House. I kept having flashbacks to * and all his jabbering about being "humble" and "honored." And then I had more flashbacks to the grenades lobbed by the Rs over the past several years...the "you lie" moments and the histrionics and wrenches pitched by the dog whistlers in the House.

He's a hack. The GOP wins the House in 2010, and suddenly the American people have spoken. Of course when the Dems won the House, Senate, and white House in 2006 and 2008, Boehner didn't hear the people. He still doesn't. He hears only his corporate masters.

I hope Nancy gives him something to cry about.

I agree, since the courts say corporations "are people", I guess he can say he works for the "people", the corporate people that is!

He is a hypocrite pure and simple. Republicans did all they could the last two years to "disrupt" the house, and now he is warning the democrats "not" to do it, what a joke he is!

All I wonder is how long before he goes over the edge and he loses his position? He is clearly unstable, according to his own republicans he has a drinking problem, and now he is going to "fix" the country? I can of doubt it!

Unwarranted arrogance if the mark of the new GOP. Hopefully this weakness can by exploited by the Democrats.

I agree, democrats need to take him to task and hold him responsible for his actions. They need to bring the "facts" to the front of everything he says or does, and keep him, and the rest of the party, defending themselves for what they say and do, as well as what they said and did the last two years!

Democrats have to control the conversation, keep the focus on "REAL" issues, and not let the republicans try and keep this country from mending after the mess they and, and Bush, left us in!

Humility has nothing to do with it. Boner was in tears (again) when they elephants won the House because he was in sheer disbelief of his own dumb luck. It's like finding out you won the lottery.
