Huffington Post misrepresents a young man's website as a major liberal political grp
Seems to try and take President Obama down, Huffington Post will not let the facts get in the way.

One of their latest headlines from HP blares (as was posted here on DFP):

Progressive Group To Supporters: Withhold Donations To Obama If He Cuts Medicare, Medicaid

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/04/12...48139.html

Well I went to their website (http://boldprogressives.org) and found it odd that this major political group lacked an about us page. So I did a domain search and found this website (not really a group) is owned and operated by this man:

Greg Sargent had it on his website yesterday and I got snookered by it..it really bothered me that Bold Progressives would do that and I thought about it a lot and wrote about it in a reply to an OP where I asked if they were as diligent getting the vote out in 2010 as they were at this..but, I haven't seen it here.

I'm really glad to see this is Not true! Good work, Mav.

I just saw the OP here..one reply was that they got an email so it seems like it would be from the Bold Progressives? Now I'm confused!

TINS got an email from Adam Green and I just looked and so did I..asking me to sign his petition so it's the real deal unfortunately.

What does an email prove? I am not aiming to be difficult but it's not hard to make a website or send out an email. That can all be done by a single person or a couple of people. To be a real group they need to have staff, and true membership (not just names on a petition like I. P. Freely). MoveOn.org is real, PCCC seems to be a cyber illusion.

Just that it's from THE Bold Progressives that I've always known..not a fake one..Here's what they had to say..I'm going to respond and tell them that I'm signing their stupid email and ask them if they were this diligent in getting out the vote in 2010.

I copied and pasted it..

Cha,

Urgent! The White House announced that in a big speech today, President Obama will do what no Republican President has been able to do: Put Medicare and Medicaid on the table for potential cuts.

Many former Obama volunteers, donors, and voters are deeply disappointed. A Democratic Congressman said on MSNBC on Monday that Obama needs to "act like a Democrat."

Will you sign this urgent pledge, which we'll deliver to the Obama campaign?

"President Obama: If you cut Medicare and Medicaid benefits for me, my parents, my grandparents, or families like mine, don't ask for a penny of my money or an hour of my time in 2012. I'm going to focus on electing bold progressive candidates -- not Democrats who help Republicans make harmful cuts." Click here to sign.

Below are some amazing notes from Obama volunteers who worked passionately for the President in 2008.

Many people still want to believe in President Obama. But the White House needs to understand that their actions now will have real consequences for 2012. The level of grassroots enthusiasm will be determined by whether the President fights for bold progressive change -- and takes cuts that hurt grandparents, the disabled, and kids firmly off the table.

The White House will absolutely be watching the progress of this petition. And we'll deliver the pledge signatures to the Obama campaign headquarters in Chicago.

Please sign today -- then, pass it to others who worked to elect President Obama in 2008.

Thanks for being a bold progressive.

Not sure what this means - PCCC is a fake or the website boldprogressives.org doesn't really represent them?

Well that's who comes up when you Google. So if they don't have a website, what sort of organization are they?

Fuck that letter and fuck whoever that congressman was. If Congressional Democrats started acting more like Democrats, President Obama would still have a majority in the House.

No kidding. How many times does Congress have to block or water down Obama's progressive proposals before these knuckleheads get the idea that Obama isn't the real problem and shouldn't be their main target for attack?

RE: Huffington Post misrepresents a young man's website as a major liberal political grp
now i am even more confused.
is this the same PCCC as the one in this thread? :

http://democratsforprogress.com/forum/sh...p?tid=4823

and if so, are you saying that even though it is a "cyber illusion," "PCCC gets major funding through Act Blue"?

if so, isn't that fraud? so, shouldn't we be doing more than just writing to Act Blue complaining "about PCCC's anti-Democratic party activities"? such as expecting Act Blue to take legal action against them?

i'm so confused ....

It's fair to say that DFP is a larger group of grass-roots Democrats than PCCC. Has HuffPo done a blog on this site yet?
